Description

Parking lot at the entrance of the Reserva Natural. Price for camping includes entrance fee. Facilities are a little bit in a distance. Hot temperatures.
Just naughty and rip off! We arrived at the afternoon and asked if we can stay overnight behind the gate. A badly humored lady said no. No camping from 06 December till 31. March possible. After we show her that a lot of overlanders stood there, she discussed with two other ladies. Than we got the allowance to stay at the eco hotel one km inside the park for 50.000 cop. Because our motorhome has 7 meters we diside to walk the small path to see if it is possible. It was and we disided to stay overnight. As we returned the price was 50.000 PER PERSON. Dirty trick!!!

I don't consider this a campground. A noisy parking right behing the entrance. The camping (only tents allowed) has run down facilities which you wont you use when it gets dark (too far away and no lights). Campground 5 km from here is far more beautiful and better, especially when you are with children. But the reserva is nice though and worth the entrancefee.

DOG FORBIDDEN - PERRO PROHIBIDO. Nous avons été refusé au camping du parc car nous avions un chien. Nous avons expliqué que notre chien n’irai pas dans la partie parc avec nous, qu’il resterait dans le Van. Refus catégorique. Chien interdit !!!

You can park inside the gate, just off the main highway, in a big grassy area. On a weekday, it was beautifully quiet. We saw fireflies at night. It is a hike to the washrooms but we are self-contained. If you are tenting, you can set up further on and nearer the washrooms (which look pretty beat up). The trail is lovely. 25,000COP each for one night. Includes park entrance.

nice spot for a couple of days. as stated above we camped on the hill above the campground. it was very quiet but bathrooms are a bit of a hike.

caving was super fun. water was a bit cloudy in the river but tubing was still nice. you can rent from the old guy in the campground.

kind of annoying that if you pay for one night and decide to stay longer they want you to pay 25,000 again rather than 10,000 since two nights is 35,000.

Prices pp for camping are now: 25000 1 night, 35000 2 nights and 40000 3 nights. Activities in the park are 20000 each, but since it was the weekend and holiday time everything was full for several days. So make sure you reserve as soon as possible! We could only do the caverna, which was super cool.

There was no wifi anywhere when we were here.

We could camp inside the park on the "old" camping. It is ok but nothing special. The La Peña Camping some km north is much better and it's not more expensive if you stay only one day in the canyon (What is enough...). Camping in the canyon: 25000 / Entrance to the canyon 15000 + Camping La Peña 10000

Cañon del Rio Claro, in the department of Antioquia in Colombia. It is a reacle of nature to visit. The river of clear and transparent water formed for years a spectacular cannon among marble stones that shine with great intensity. The canyon of the Claro river is a sustainable reserve that with the resources obtained from the entrances, preserves the reserve in its most natural habitat, with roads and beaches inside the river for our delight. Camping area, parking lot for big cars, bathrooms with shower. The camping rates are COP $ 25,000 per person.

Camping for vans is a bit closer to the tour office and restaurant than the actual campsite because campsite is not accessible for cars. You have to walk 10min to the facilities that are indeed a bit old fashioned. Very quite at night and lots of jungle sounds which is awesome. 15.000 per person for one night, entrance included. Stuff is not motivated. We did the cavern tour for 20.000. It was fun but also a bit disgusting because of the birds. Recommended.

Nice Campsite. They let me into the park, although I drive a 12to truck. Took 2 days for 25.000 COP because it's a good offer in contrast to just one day for 15.000 COP. I was here on Friday, so weekend started. That means, there are lots of people with bikes coming to go Rafting, Canyoning or something else. So it was not as quite as I expected it to be. The trail into the jungle is nice and worth walking.

This is the parking lot at the entrance and campsite for tents is next to it. If in a vehicle they allow you to camp in other places. We continued up the dirt road and camped in an open area midway from the entrance to the activity centre. Very beautiful, private access to the river. Look for a wooden house under construction. We loved it and stayed 4 nights. Good 3G Claro reception. Bathrooms at the activity centre and bathroom and showers at campsite at the entrance. Wifi at the entrance (office) or restaurant by the road (extra fee: 3000 pesos 1 hour). 25000 two nights/person or 15000 one night/person. Great birdwatching. One of our favorites in Colombia.

Unfriendly place. 25000 for two nights. Place in a parkinglot, with little electricity: far away and only on office hours.
The camping facilities are poor and dirty. Only accesible by foot and camping only in a tent.
Toilet outside the gate are OK.

Report Check-In

Unfortunately, the camping area is for tents only and no cars allowed. Otherwise the campground would be very nice.

So we had to stay in the parking lot above the campsite with the car. Sometimes a bit noisy because of the main road and the petrol station. Clean toilets and cold outdoor shower about 300 m away.

The nature reserve is a dream. Beautifully landscaped trail along the river. Great swimming in the river.

(You have to pay for at least two nights. The park entrance fee of 5,000 COP / day / person is included in the room rate.)
