Just a camp ground near the KFS station in Isecheno. No facilities. Better to go to Blue shoulder guesthouse. That is owned by the community, this is government and run down (ablution not maintained)

This place is in wrong location - it is located at 0.23615, 34.86537

Report Check-In

Nice and quite location with lots of bird and primates, but bad ablutions. Price still 650 + 600.

Report Check-In

650ksh camping + 600ksh entry. It's a decent spot for a rooftent although the ablutions could be better. I agree with the other poster that the sunrise hike involves too much walking on the road. The view was great and my guide was very knowledgeable.

Report Check-In

Nice grass field, but there are a lot of cons: extremely poor ablutions so you need to be fully self supporting. During our stay no running water, however David made warm water for us. They are working on new ablutions so it will be better in the future.

It is also NOT in the area where the 'longer' hikes (sunrise/sunset) start. You need to walk along the main road to the gate (one hour each way and guide did not mentioned this to us). Even when we informed the guide about a knee injury, it was still not mentioned. I recommend you drive this as it is not a nice road to walk or start from Rondo Retreat (they offer same walk a lower price as they are closer to the start point for sunrise/sunset walks).

We had high expectations but were really disappointed! Ask many and detailed questions to ensure you are talking about the same and/or have all the information you need.

Very beautifull spot in the Kakamega forest. The facilities are very poor but the side with all the blue monkeys made up for that. Friendly staff and if you want to do a guided walk trough the forest we recommend a sunrise walk with Benjamin!!
