We slept one night there, and since we were going to Danakil, we asked for a discount for parking only. We had a deal, but when we came back from the tour after 3 days, the manager "forgot" about it and was then asking even more money than before.
Not many options in this town, so we parked in the street.
They tried to overcharge us; traveling with 3 we wanted one room and two sleep un the car. Single room is 250birr and camping 200birr; but two persons sleeping in the car were not allowed to use bathroom of the room, so camping without ANY ablutions, just parking! If we wanted to use shower and toilet we needed to pay full double room price of 350birr for camping. So total of 600birr without breakfast! All the rooms we saw were tired and dark and not so clean.
Also asked 150birr per day to leave our car during out Danakil tour.
We went to Atse Yohannes instead; paid the same amount but including breakfast for three. Much nicer welcome and rooms are so much better!
