Latest Check-Ins

Attention! There was a strong flood a few days ago (27.11.2023) and damaged the street and bridge before the cross to this place, if you come from the salt cave. Possible with cars and Landrovers. Not possible for big rigs. So we had to turn off, went back the 25 kilometers gravelroad and for 12 kilometers we needed over 100 :-(. Please ask, if road is ok, before trying!

Report Check-In

first 8 km washedout road.
nice place, easier to reach as it looks.

Report Check-In

In Osm is an official campsite. However, without infrastructure. Again, during the Ramadan, the nightly fast breakers are to be illuminated to the foreign vehicles with the phones, with eager loud discussion and regardless of whether the dogs are barking in the vehicle.
Otherwise a wonderful beach, mile sinter, many shells, but also stones and rocks. nice to weil.
no Internet!

Report Check-In

Unbelievable beautiful spot. Swimming is possible but you have to walk about because of the mud in front( or you would like a mud bath, which we can recommend!! :-)) nobody around for two days. Perfect

Report Check-In

Nice beach with a great view of the mountains near by. We spent a quiet and windy night here.

Report Check-In

Still a great place. Some locals might come by, but otherwise quiet. Stayed 3 Days

Report Check-In

Indeed very quite. The litter is okay, the view quite beautiful. Only very few people around.

'official' camp site, very nice spot … if you turn a blind eye on the rubbish … even swimming is possible :-)
we stayed for four nights, once in a while a local came by, once the army, but very friendly and satisfied after we showed them our 'permission'

Report Check-In

We checked out several places along the coast west from here, but preferred this beach, despite the trash. Ended up staying three nights. If you drive 100-200m left from the ruins (4WD) there is slightly less trash in your face and a herd of camels might join you at sunset to come sleep on the beach. Spotted two stingrays in knee-deep water and bigger fish (dolphins?) further out.

Report Check-In

Nice quiet place, some litter. Easy reachable by 2wd. We spent here 2 nights, then came a strange guy on a motorbike. He did not speak much and did not go away so we left the place. Place is known for camping, we met also other campers here. Don't take the route between the airport and Salakh, it is not a good road.

Report Check-In

Except for the litter this might be the best camping spot on the island. On this spot we didn't get any local visitors. The beach is nice to swim and camels pass by on the beach. At night we did see some shy dogs. Some parts are deep sand but doable with a motorcycle.

Report Check-In

Camped next to ruins. Nice spot but some litter. Very quiet. ~10km past Salakh town.
