Indeed amazing spots to find in this place. I drove my yamaha xt660z through the sand with two people on it make sure you follow the tracks of the cars not to sink into the sand. For 4wd should be a problem anywhere. Saw some locals there during the day but at night we were all alone. We went end of October and it doesn't get to cold at night but still hot during the day. Enough of flat spots for tents with good views
