Stayed here on night. Campsite 7 and 8 has Amazing views over the Zambezi river. Price still $16 pppn but watch out they try to charge $6 for a bundle of firewood without informing you. Staff very friendly and curious.

We stayed here on a Thursday and Friday the week before Easter. There was only one other party on the campsite, no guests in the lodge.
Luckily we got one of the two riverside campsites and had a wonderful view. Each campsite has its own fire place, braai place and power point. Staff was very friendly and attentive, making the fire or asking if we liked to have meals or do an activity.
As already said, the 8 campsites are quite close to each other. Each campsite has its own shower and toilet in the ablution block. Shower was hot and had good pressure. There is a dish washing area, a pool and a bar on the campsite. Everything got cleaned every day.
One evening we had dinner - the table was put outside close to the fire place and laid very nicely. We were surprised.
Camping costs now 16$pppn we can't say anything about the activities.
We would stay there again, but probably not at a weekend or on school holidays.

This lodge is very popular among families and groups. Very noisy when we were there. Relativly small plots at the camsite so you are a bit squeezed together with your neighbours. Restaurant serves some snacks, meals are quite expensive: breakfast for 15$ pp, dinner 27$. Prices for activivities are extraordenary high, eg 258$ pp for a game ride (excl. park fees). Staff is friendly, nice river view.

Report Check-In

Camp friendly lodge with all necessities required. $10 pppn with own camping gear, 8 camp sites close to river bank. Ablution block clean and neat. Camping has own bar and swimming pool. Best for weekend getaways from Lusaka.

I don't recommend staying here. We camped for two nights. 15$ per person. No free tea or coffee. When I mentioned the previous comments to the manager saying there was free tea and coffee, he said it was "lies", "the people are lying" 😂 One of the two pools was broken and the toilets and showers were filthy.. Hadn't been cleaned in weeks. No toilet roll either (apparently they don't supply toilet roll because the staff take it). The view is beautiful and the staff are friendly. Though if you need something you have to interrupt them from looking at their phones to get their attention.

Lovely hotel with camping available overlooking the river. $15 USD per person per night to camp or $30 USD if you want to rent a tent. Clean bathrooms. Expensive meals and no kitchen available. Free tea and coffee as mentioned. Plenty of pricy activities available on site. Beautiful pool.

lovely grassed campsite with a view over the river.
ablutions were basic, but clean and had hot water. campsite has its own pool and bar area with balcony.
staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful.

Good camp site Gras on sites with braai, electricity and light. Camping area has own pool and bar. Nice veiw of the Zambezi. Cost is 14 USD pppn. Shower and toilet needs maintenance but was acceptable. It is about 1.5hours from Lower Zambezi National Park.

Report Check-In

Average campsite on the Zambezi River. They have 8 pitches in total, but all very close to eachother and not very big. Every campsite has its own firepit, light and electricity point. Abolution is dated and not really clean. There is a nice social area with bar, pool table and swiming pool, but it lacks maintanance.

The main bar and dining area at the reception has a nice view over the Zambezi and looks much better.

There is no free wifi, but it can be bought. It is better to get your own local sim card as you have reach here and it is cheaper.

Prices are still 14$ pppn, which is too high for what you get.

20km off the sealed road from border, camping is $14usd per person. Campsites are not the biggest so can feel kind of full when other campers are there. Chalets are available at a price that would make you wince, otherwise tidy grounds with beautiful bar area overlooking the river. Monkeys literally everywhere but didn't see much else.

WiFi is purchased at different prices for different data amounts, but Internet was unusably slow while I was there.

Would stay here again if I was in the area, but in hindsight should have just continued to Lusaka

We are world travellers travelling with our own car. We came to this place because of the positive comments we have read. The place is nice indeed but not exceptional. To our surprise the prices went up to 14$ ppn and there is no free coffee or tea. No room for negotiation either. Furthermore we had to sign a document that sets the management out of any liability. Indeed 8'pitches near to an ablution block that seems to be build a century ago. Showers have hot water. We didn't have the feeling that we were welcome here. In Thailand or India we got a decent hotel room with air on and sometimes fee breakfast for 14$! This place is certainly not worth the money.
