Latest Check-Ins

The new camp is being built and when finished will be similar to Samala near the North gate of the park. However at the moment, it's not a great campsite. The ambitions were ok and the water was hot. the view is lovely... but it does feel a bit like a building site at the moment. Good for one night. It will be amazing when completed in about a month.

The community living here are very busy building a new camp and maintaining the ablutions, very good hot shower, flush toilet. Impressive panorama of the sand banks with lots of hippos and birds. Hippos come out to graze after dark, some merkats in the morning. We paid 620 kw for 2 (they said they prefer Kwacha to US $).

Nice place, very friendly and helpful staff, basic campground. We payed 150 Kw ppn.

We crossed the Luangwa river with the pontoon. Beautiful spot in a community runed campsite. Very friendly people! They are renovating the place and we could use the (basic) hot shower and toilet from a chalet. It is the perfect place to watch game in and around the river. We saw elephants, hippos and lots of birds (also in the campsite.) At night we could hear also lions, hyena's and leopards! We stayed one night for 300kw p.p. and decided to stay another night and do a guided game walk in the morning. We made a better deal for the second night 200kw p.p. and 200kw p.p for the game walk. We can really recommend this place traveling through NLNP to SLNP!

Lovely spot - hot showers, superb scenery, friendly staff. Water well (hand pump). $15pppn, kids half price but under 10 is free. Highly recommended.

Kw150 per person and really nice setting with reed showers and toilets, we had lunch here and moved south.

Nice community campsite with friendly people. Don’t expect anything fancy though. But you pay for the community and the great view, which is 15$ pppn. Abolution is clean and they have warm water. Firewood is free, just ask.

Beautiful and friendly community campsite at the Luangwa River. Clean ablutions, friendly and helpful staff. The scenery is magical. Hippos, crocs, fish eagle and kingfisher at your doorstep. And the pontoon crossing to North Luangwa is fun.

Report Check-In

The camp is not to bad but for 15 USD pp/night we expect way more.
