Latest Check-Ins

A very nice place to stay one afternoon, good food, staff very friendly, little pool, nice view on maramba river.
All is fine but campsite is closed, only lodges

Report Check-In

They do not offer camping at this site any more. They sent me to the Waterfront camping.

Report Check-In

This place has currently no campsites available due to construction.

Report Check-In

US 25.- pnpp (European) One of the badest places we have been.

Report Check-In

oh dear, new price Kw320, that's $20
Judging by the other comments seems like it's certainly not worth it

Report Check-In

used the campsite, price had doubled since we booked but they honoured the original price. Nice campsite with pool, can see crocodiles and hippos in camp. it is over priced I would say but most are in livingstone.

Report Check-In

Stayed 2 nights for 255 K pppn. Sites are shady and mostly level, muddy due to the sprinklers being on so much. Plenty of mosquitoes but problem subsided after they fumigated the place. Saw no eles or hippos, just monkeys. Weak WiFi on campsite, stronger by reception but unreliable. We were the only campers and the bathrooms were not cleaned for the duration of our stay.

Report Check-In

New price: USD 19.13 / ZKW 449 per person and night for the camping. Justification: Tax increase.
We have not accepted that and drove to the waterfront Lodge. There ZKW 210 / USD 10 per person and night.

Report Check-In

Wanted $15pppn for camping!!! Agree with last comment, definitely pricing itself out. We did not stay.

Report Check-In

Incorrect pricing, wanted 225 kwatcha per night, Zambia pricing itself out sadly...
No more camping

Report Check-In

Nice hot showers, wifi in the campsite, stocked bar and restaurant (which is scarce these days at many places) and nice spots to have some privacy on the campsite right at the river. Power points at most campsites, just be very careful with the elephants as one guest got charged in the camp when we were there. New owners who are upgrading and improving so this will be the best place in town for a while to come... highly recommended

Report Check-In

We camped next to the river for 3 night. We got visited by a herd of Elephants each evening, which was spectacular. The camp is basic, but has nice grass and shaded trees. The restrooms are nice and clean with nice showers. We had a look at a few campsites in Livingstone with this one being the best. The premises in general is well maintained.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Great campsite. $10 pppn. Noisy during weekends. Hippos can be seen at night when they come out to graze.

Report Check-In

Nice place to stay. Very friendly and helpfull crew. Also the food is good.

Report Check-In

Good cosi te and very helpfull friendly people.

Report Check-In

Nice campsite, well quipped spots, clean ablutions, nice bar on the river. No baboons in sight while we stayed one night. Paid 150kw pppn. Restaurant looks like a fiction room from 70s.

Report Check-In

As described very nice campsite. Big rigs can enter through another road bypass the main gate. Wi-Fi just next to reception. Good Zimbabwean Econet signal. You can fish here. Still 10$/150kw you can pay by card.

Report Check-In

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! We weren’t sure what to expect provided the mix of comments, but we have only positive things to say.

Spacious campsites, surrounded by trees so there is plenty of shade. Some campsites are more sandy while others are grassy. We didn’t have any rain while we were there, so mud was not a problem for us. A couple sites are directly on the river - campsite I is fantastic! ;)

The ablutions were clean- hot water and great pressure. Braai stand/tables & electricity at every site. A fire pit is at most and there are plenty of water taps distributed throughout camp (city water). Pool was clean and perfect to relax by the river. Beers are reasonably priced at 20kwacha. Wifi @ bar/reception.

Lovely birdlife around camp, and we saw loads of hippos and crocs. They expect elephants to return around April.

Great location- 10 min drive into town, and 5 min to the waterfall. Feels like you’re in the bush without being too far from anything in Livingstone.

We were the only campers most of the time so it was peaceful and quiet. Staff were all very friendly- felt safe the whole 4 nights we were there.

$10 pppn (card machine available).

Report Check-In

Agree with the statements of other travelers except for the amount of mosquitos. Yes there are mosquitos but not more than anywhere else. If you have a mosquito tight tent or camper and you spray you are good. Value for money.

Report Check-In

Nice and clean campsite. Hot showers. Friendly staff. Lovely view from the bar on the Maramba River. 10USD pppn.

Report Check-In

Generally an OK camp much less busy compared to Waterfront. 10 USD pppn. Nice campsite and a few elephants passed by. We were the only ones camping. We did not try the restaurant. The river is almost dry and overgrown with water hyacinth. Be warned this place is seriously mosquito infested. We have mosquito proof nets on our camper truck but they still managed to get in and we did not sleep much this night. Security seems OK had 3 armed guards on duty.

Report Check-In

This place is amazing. We stayed at campsite I which is in front of the river and we could see elephants, hippos and Crocs while having dinner. For $10 USD pppn seems the best option around.

Report Check-In

Nicely positioned. Friendly staff. Hot showers. Clean ablutions. Wood 20K for big bundle. Recommend over Waterfront Lodge where we stayed on our last visit and especially for the price ($10/adult and half price below 10 years).

Report Check-In

Lovely quite setting. Hippo's and crocs can be seen from your campsite.

Report Check-In

I fell in love with this place when I arrived! It was very reasonably priced ($10 USD pppn), and the grounds made me feel like I was at a nice tropical resort (when you look closer at the buildings and such you notice it is a bit run down). The bar area was superb with its view of the resident hippos (an absolute highlight), and I loved walking around. The campsites are very run-down and could be much better. But, after dealing with a lot of mosquitoes (not enough to have bothered me in a non-Malaria area) and hearing of somebody being robbed in their tent overnight (the staff at registration did confirm that this happened, but would not give any details), the place lost its charm. So, as much as I loved it, I am not sure I can recommend it.

Report Check-In

For us the nicest spot to stay in Livingstone. The campsites are okay but they could be much better. We saw many elefants at the River, also Hippos and Buffalos. You can user the swimmingpool. All for 10$ppN.

Report Check-In

Awesome campsite. Great facilities all round.

Report Check-In

After the positive reviews on ioverlander we had high expactions.
Unfortunatly we have a different opinion.
Althought the staff is very friendly and campsite are very big. The most beautiful onwith the most of privacy is campsite I.

For your information the followin* things:
_ The lodge misses a great vibe.
- Campsite is over rowling by grass, garbage and old fire everywhere
- abulutionblocks are outdated
- swimmingpool is dirty
- campsites are muddy

Unfortunatly we made a dision to go the Waterfront, 5 min further.
(Campsite here is not beautiful) but the rest is more better!

Report Check-In

Great location, service and amenities as stated before. For $20 for 2 it's a bargain

Report Check-In

end of the year many chloride in the water. bring your own water for cooking and coffee.

Report Check-In

We have stayed here many times and we're very sad to see that the place had deteriorated very badly, mosquitoes there unbelievably bad especially in the showers, we only stayed one night then moved to Waterfront which is much better run

Report Check-In

We prefer to stay at Maramba River Lodge when we are in Livingstone. Much quieter than the waterfront lodge. Spacious campsite with nice spots close to the river. Great ablution block.

Report Check-In

Very professional and well organised lodge/campsite although most pitches were muddy or partly overgrown. Each pitch has a braai, kitchen table, picknick bench, electricity, standpipe and light. Some pitches have several of the above, probably for overland trucks. $10 pppn. Restaurant and bar/pool area look great. Taxi to the falls $10 one way but you can park securely at the falls so consider driving there yourself. Walking or cycling is not recommended for security reasons. Ablutions are great. Hot showers and very clean. Bit far away though. Spent 6 nights there and every night loud music from elsewhere until at least 23:00h. Also lots of helicopters, planes and lightweight aircrafts flying over all day which can be very noisy. And then there is the steam train... Make sure you get pitch H if available. Most shade, right next to the water and most privacy. Wifi only available at the bar/pool, reasonable speed. Camp attendant sells bundles of firewood for 10 ZKW. Not very good wood though.

Report Check-In

Best camping in Livingstone. Full use of all lodge facilities. Very friendly staff, lovely location. Our 6th (maybe more?) visit. We've had many elephants and hippos in the camp - mostly in the dry season. Halfway between town and The Falls. One of our favourites and great base for touring.

Report Check-In

Very friendly, helpful manager and staff. After being robbed at the road to the falls (see warning), they let us stay for free, offered their help... Still lots of mosquitos. The rest like the other reviews.

Report Check-In

Nice campsite, might be very muddy in rainy season. Good ablutions, nice Restaurant and staff. Help organize you trip to the vic falls. Better than waterfront Lodge! 10$pPn, children half

Report Check-In

Nice campsite with sites on the river. Can see elephants on the other side and hippos sometimes come into camp. Nice pool and bar area open to campers. Close to the falls. Crazy amount of mosquitoes. They were buzzing around our tent like a blood thirsty army. Repellent a must. Zkw100pppn
