Latest Check-Ins

We stayed 2 nights in the campground. Note that they charge $5.00 per bundle of wood. There are lots of birds in the campsite and each site has a fireplace & sink. Lots of shady trees . Watch out for the baboons they patrol the campsite.

The write up by TETravels is still valid.
Prices have changed to 17 USD pppn and their game drives are 60 USD pp plus park fees.

Price is now 17 USD pppn. Rest as written before.

We stayed at all 3 campsites around SL and really liked T&T. Unfortunately the campsite is in the middle of the grounds with no view and some long grass, and also has an electric fence around it so no visitors like the other campsites (we really enjoy the ele's etc so this was a shame) but large shady areas, nice clean sinks and power too. Also some cool hides to climb/sit in the campsite. Ablutions were great and the pool is amazing overlooking the river as well as the restaurant/bar area with nice hammocks and loungers etc. Friendly staff and we did a night drive with Vic who was a fantastic guide. $15pppn

Track & Trail is a great place also for campers. 15 $ pppn. Campsite is nice flat, tree shaded area. Several braai spots with water, light and electricity. Abolutions nice & clean. Two high terraces overlooking campsite and neighbourhood with hippo-pool and elephants passing by.
Staff very friendly. Night drive 55$ pp with sundowner (you pay on top), guided by Vic who is very knowledgeable.
Very nice pool and bar overlooking the Luangwa. All in all a great place to stay. - but beware the baboons: shut tents and windows.

nice camp. friendly staff. baboons here. 15 usd ppn. Nice shower and bar 😉

Great campsite & nice chalets overlooking the river.
For groundfloor tents they have some elevated teraces to pitch your tent, which is nice as elephants and hippos are visiting every night.

Pool area is fantastic, with super view over the river and also being very clean.

Erik at the reception is very friendly and Vic is a superb safari guide with lots of knowledge.

Also easily accessible with smaller non-4*4 cars.

Monkeys are indeed annoying but apart from that this place is just great.

We stayed here 4 nights. Nice and quiet campsite not directly at the river. But the pool is build elevated with good view of the river. 15 USD pppn.
All good booked a game/ night drive in the evening 55USD pp for 4 hours. Saw lions, wild dogs and lots of other animals. Only draw back are the very aggressive monkeys and Baboons. Keep all food not visible all doors, windows roof hatches closed and locked or they WILL break in!!! All love for monkeys but the owners have to do something about this issue....

Nice place, but very expensive. Camping is 12$, beer 3-4$ and a burger between 15 and 17$. BBC is 35$
WiFi for 30 min 1.5$ and very slowly.
Staff is friendly and helpful, but the manager (south african) is not really friendly.
A lot of animals, elephants, monkeys and hippos around.
I can’t recommend this place depending of costs

lovely grassy campsite just back from the river (there are chalets w river view). camping is $12.50 pppn in low season, $15pppn in high season. use of pool and gym is included and there are nice loungers and hammocks by the river. food at the restaurant is really good - but fairly expensive ($15usd for a main). you can book game drives if you dont want to self drive - $55usd pp plus $25 pp park fee. our guide was really good and it really made a difference to the number of bird species etc. we could identify! drives are 4hrs 6-10am or 4-8pm (otherwise park closes at 6pm for self drive).

the campsite facilities are good - sites have a sink, garbage (secure - baboons and monkeys are visitors) and power, plus there are tukuls for shelter/shade. there are also two large raised platforms which are cool.

there is also an electric fence now so the hippos and elephants divert elsewhere for grazing these days!

hot water showers, flushing toilets and very clean facilities.

Report Check-In

Camping is $12,50 pp. Lots of monkeys around and at night two hippos were grazing next to our car.

Report Check-In

Okay campsite (not on the river), clean ablution block, nice shelters around the campsite, WIFI is charged at $2,- per hour, but is really slow (but you are far away from any major town). Restaurant is very expensive and even charges you $0,50 just for mayonaise/ketchup when a burger already costs $16,-. Firewood is available for $5,- per bundle.

Break in is nowadays a huge problem in the SL area and an attempt was done on this campsite at night as well. Nothing taken, but be aware. Lock your car, keep valuables close.
