a few km outside town past coyote Cal's. The road to enrendira is good, paved into town then a reasonable gravel road which all the locals travel with normal cars. This spot has some sandy beach & lots of mussels. Dolphins passing as I write this
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
not sure what the road problem was, stayed a bit further along this time & locales going past in normal saloons
Report Check-InThe road after the village is almost impassable for a normal vehicle. The locals with 4x4 or car manage to do it, but personally I backtracked because it was too impracticable. Good luck on the adventure.
La route après le village est quasi non roulable pour un véhicule normal. Les gens du coin avec 4x4 ou auto arrivent à le faire, mais personnellement je suis revenu sur mes pas car trop impraticable. Bonne chance pour l'aventure.
Report Check-Instayed for three nights, including Christmas. had company from others all nights. lots of families on the holiday. nice mussels to eat. incredible tide pools. donkeys in the morning. felt safe, but we packed up our camp totally each night. able to surf a little bit as the tide went out in the morning. so much trash everywhere.
Report Check-InFantastic spot to spend the day and/or night. Just past Hostel Coyote Cal’s there’s a big leveled surface ( 100’x100’) with coast and beaches on both north and south side. In winter you can see sunrise and sunset from that spot. No facilities but most likely bathrooms at Coyote Cal’s , they seem to have a Thai restaurant although we didn’t go. The dirt road after Erendira is a few miles after the paved road ends
Report Check-InAmple parking, easy, flat, wide-open spots. a little bit exposed..but beautiful anywhere you park. Mussel-harvesting, dolphins, seals. 👌
Report Check-InLocal guys in town are professional dirt bike thieves, and now I’ve been told that Erendira is one of the most dangerous places to visit in Baja. If you have anything worth value on the outside of your vehicle, make sure it is heavily chained, locked, with gps, or maybe just pay to stay at Coyote Cals in town, or just skip this location altogether. Would not feel safe staying here again.
Report Check-InA plethora of options available for single vehicles or multiple large vehicles. Super scenic coastline. Good tacos and light food available in nearby Erendira.
Report Check-Inbeautiful place to spend night along the beach. we saw few dolphins jumping out of the water early in the morning. plenty of pelicans. road is rough but we did it with a 24 feet. drive very slowly.
Report Check-InNice flat area right off the road “13 Octubre.” There was a local, Jose, who was collecting some mussels off the rocks for dinner when we arrived. He was keen to talking to us and assured us it was ok if we stayed the night here. Lots of food to be foraged off the rocks and beach here if you are into that kinda thing.
Report Check-InWe loved this spot. Lots of other pull outs available in the area. No little thieves when we visited - we saw almost no one at all. Bumpy muddy road out that I wouldn’t recommend if it recently rained.
Report Check-InGreat location, just a couple scattered houses. At 4am woke up to use the bathroom and several people were out combing the land with flashlights 100 yards away, assumed they were catching clams or something. I went back in the tent. Then several minutes later I saw a flash of light outside the tent and heard a small noise. By the time I got my shoes on to investigate, they had stolen an old fishing pole and one of my fuel jugs. Little thieves. I made sure to secure everything else.
Report Check-Innice place. there are many possibilities to camp next to the ocean here, because there are many small pull offs and parallel roads to the actual gravel road. we didnt stop exactly where this spot is located on the map but about 300 meter further North, because there was a small stretch of sandy beach. you can camp almost everywhere along the road in that area. we stayed for two nights.
a local who lives nearby passed by to offer fish and fire wood.
we drove there with a 2WD minivan which was no problem at all, we just had to drive slow after Ejido Eréndira where the gravel road starts.
