Just tried Auberge Menata and found it very closed. My vocabulary of 17 French words could not work if it is permanently closed or not but looks it.

paid 200 for a bed in the dorm room upstairs. nothing special but good for a night as you can park behind the gate.

Nice place in centre of the city.
Sandy pitches. Wifi is good.
Price Ou 400 for 2 persons and 4x4.
Ablution is......eh.... functional. Hot showers!
Opposit there is a local restaurant. Food cheap and oké. Do not expect admosphere!

I’m checking in again, need to say after all the problems we had the first night the guy apologised and no one else approached the car neither our personal belongings, the frontdesk guy is very nice and tried to help us with everything he could think of.
He showed me the books and apparently they are updating the price to 6000, I told him again he should be more clear about that.
He were able to use the washing machine for free.

forgot to say there was a party next door and generally noisy due to the pump the have all day running next to were you are expected to park and relax.

Would not recommend this place, first problem was the price, the guy asked me how many we were, i told him we were 2 and he answered the price was 3000, then when i was about to pay the guy told me it was 4000, he even said the new price is 3000 per person but that he was giving me the old 2000 per person price. Did not like that at all, the price was supossed to include electricity but someone unplugged ours during the night, security is poor as I even found a guy going through my tools (he said he was just curious) and people coming right next to the van to sell all kinds of different crap. they have no sense of privacy either private property.

For us it was a perfect place, its located in the very center of the city, ca. 15 min walking to the main market. For Sixieme market (the other big in the city) you can take a cab, which when full (7 people) costs 100 OUG/person (supercheap, aprox. 0,25 Eur). Friendly staff, specially Emanuel, camerooniese guy. Try the restaurant, meals around 1,25 Eur, big portions, delicious. Shops, cafes, bakeries around the camp. We felt safe and comfortable. Hot showers, normal toilets, clean in general. Wifi fast at the restaurant, ok on the site.

quite clean and quiet place in a good neighborhood, close to groceries, cafes, restaurants and bakery des princes. we got a room with 2 double beds, air con and private bath for 10,000 Our. wifi was working but slow. parking is secured and guarded day and night. nice staff.

We ca me here during a week-end, with our motorhome and it was
quiet. We felt safe and did not see lot of " visitors " as mentionned.
Guarded place. Price 2000 pp. Load of washing machine 1000.
Internet ok.

Basic hostel to stay, we slept on the rooftop in a small room what had just 3 beds and a mosquito net. 2500 um per person. You can also use your own tent price 2000 um pp. Wifi works really well, toilets are African and there are hot showers. Also small kitchen available.

Here is really in the center. If you want to open tent 4.000 for 2 people include motorcycles. Stay on the roof in a like room 5.000. They have hot shower and wifi working most of time well

It was OK, hosts were nice. It was difficult to make the washing machine working, but worked in the end.

Confirmo los datos anteriores. Lavadora automatica 1000 MRO/lavado. Wifi potente. 4000 MRO por 2 pax y 4x4 incluido electricidad.

Camping and rooms. Walled courtyard with Trees and flowers. Restrooms african standard. 4000UM for 2 Persons and one 4x4 per 1 night. Normaly wifi for free but not working at the moment.

Average security as random people often wandered in either wanting to ply various wares or to obtain funds for dodgy thumbs etc. Lots of shade but not much room. Hot showers but toilets only cleaned once a week. Kitchen. Place for hand washing clothes. Noisy with big all night partying happening chez neighbours on Thursday and Friday nights. Very handy for divine local patisserie (Patisserie les Princes, junction of Avenue Kennedy and Route des Ambassades), cafes and other shops. 15 minute walk to main market. Excellent location all round. Wifi. 4000 ougiya for two
