Hundreds of people here on New Years day. Absolutely packed . We parked directly in front of the pool. electrical outlets on a couple of trees. The place is pretty dirty because there are so many people here in tents. Burrr cold shower. We're here to help with the Christmas bird count so I guess it will do.
after staying 5 nights, the place never got cleaned. the bathroom nasty. the electricity never consistent. to make it worse, they unplugged us from time to time.
tuktuk 10/person into town.
nice birding around here and into the reserve.

Report Check-In

Still the same as described.
They told us if we would stay one week the price would be 50 Peso per Person. Nice grassy area and beatiful view.

Report Check-In

Check the bathroom before you pay!!! We came today, receptionist was nice, place for camping and view is beautiful! He also offered us a hot shower in one room. BUT! When we saw the bathroom at camping spot, we decided to leave in a second. Men are full of shits everywhere and women has a sink full of goulash vomit or whatever and I wasn't brave enough to open the toilets, but there were shits on the floor around. Check photos. So, for 150Q/2ppn it seemed to us a way too much.

Report Check-In

An incredible view of lake atitlan, it is safe and close to panajachel.

Report Check-In

This is an awesome hotel/campground. We stayed in our camper for 5 nights with beautiful views of the lake! This is a hotel and restaurant but across the street they have a large pool and huge grass area where we camped. They had a nice pool covered hangout area with okay bathrooms and cold showers. We were the only ones staying there at the time and pretty much had the whole area to ourselves which made it very quite and relaxing. This place is also right next to the Atitlan nature reserve which was nice to walk to and go zip lining! We paid $75QPP with electricity and we stored our camper here while we traveled around the lake and they charged $50Q a day. Awesome camp spot with amazing views!

Report Check-In

We stayed here for a total of 4 quiet nights. Given the size of our rig this was the only option for us around the lake, so we were thankful for it, despite the price (I believe they charged 80 Quetzales/person/night). Showers at the pool are cold only, we didn’t use them. Apparently they had just installed new security cameras and one of the cables crossing the road was a bit too low and we caught it unfortunately. They told us that they will need a new cable - they showed us the invoice and we settled on us paying half of it. So while access generally is fine for big rigs, it can’t hurt to double-check for cables.
We were the only overlanders there, also no events during our stay, so it was quiet. And the view is just amazing!

Report Check-In

Stayed for 5 nights. We loved the view, the access to wifi and easy access to town and the lanchas. Customer service, bathrooms and showers were OK (the women’s shower didn’t have a curtain so I needed to shower on a rush bc it’s in the same place where the toilets are and I was scared of someone coming in) . They charge us 50 quezt each. First time we were able to pay with credit card at the reception but then a lady told us that for camping is only cash.

Report Check-In

They charged us first 100Q - pay at the reception and you will pay 75Q for 2 people. They offer hot showers as well in the hotel. We could park on the grass field. There are some dogs but didn’t have any problems.

Report Check-In

Too expensive, 100Q (Im on a motorcycle) toilets were totally a mess and dirty, completly unusable
Showers didnt have water

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Amazing campground in front of Lake Atitlan. Good for campers, RV's, tents. Access to pool. 75Q/per night

Report Check-In

Not so quiet on saturday, but allround 21h it got much less noisy. People who run the hotel and eventplace are not very friendly. Charged 150 Quetzal for us and our small rig, was quite overprized.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place to camp. We had the place to ourselves with our 2 dogs. It was quiet, probably cause it was during the week? We enjoyed the restaurant and paid 75Q per night, per person.

Report Check-In

We had a very quiet week in this place. No celebrations or other events in the evening, especially quiet at night. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We could use free hotel rooms to shower when we asked for it. There are toilets near the pool, but we didn't use them.
Very nice view over Lake Atitlan. Good distance to the city or embarking station, 12 minutes on foot.
They charged 75 Q per person, including hot shower. Prices negotiable for longer stays. Highly recommended place and without alternative nearby.

Report Check-In

We stayed here 2 nights on our way to Nicaragua (for a full review and to catch oír adventures follow our YouTube channel Chris and Tovah's Amazing Adventures). This was our favorite camp spot from Mexico to Nicaragua. We were able to park right down by the lake, the views were incredible. We were able to use the pool and the bathrooms and showers (cold but it was nice and refreshing) at the pool or we could use a hotel room for a hot shower. We had a campfire in the evenings and pretty much had the place to ours
ourselves. We paid 75 Q per person per night (at the hotel reception). There is drinking water at the hotel and electric plug ins at the pool house and on the tree by the lake. We plan to come back and stay for several weeks the next time we are in Guatemala. Thanks for the great stay.

Report Check-In

We were charged 85Q per night for two people. No negotiation possible with our limited Spanish.
As we were staying on a weekend it was super busy and noisy until midnight each day.
There were about 200 people during the day for family gatherings, birthday parties, weddings.
When we arrived the only four toilets were blocked and not usable. Shower is cold and has no door.
On the second day the toilet was overflowing and was closed by the workers. No alternative given and there were still 200 people there.
There is a water tap but only brown water came out so we couldn’t fill up our tanks either.
The view is nice and it’s close to the town.
But apart from that it’s not a campground and I wouldn’t stay again for the price.
Unfortunately there is no other place around for campers which doesn’t overcharge.

Report Check-In

Beautiful view but for the rest is not worth its price. We negotiated at 150qtz for 3 nights when they asked much more.
During 2 days we were disturbed by the noise of events on the spot. The last day we were awake by a helicopter landed at 7:30 am for a wedding. We were also asked to move our appointments for the installation of the wedding.
Clearly we do not recommend this place which is not really a camping.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for 3 nights: very cool place with amazing view on the lake and volcanos.
Unfortunately, l noise from 5pm till 10pm cause of companies parties..:but it was ok.

Paid 150Q for 2 adults and 2 kids by night

Report Check-In

Beautiful view of the lake. About 10 minutes walking to the town. As mentionned in the other comments, it's dirty for the price you pay (75Q per person). If you do not need the pool, the toilets and shower, it's fine.

Report Check-In

This is a really fabulous place to camp while exploring Lake Atitlán. It is a quick tuk-tuk ride to Panajachel, where you can catch a collectivo water taxi to anywhere on the lake for Q15-25. The hotel has a restaurant (doesn’t open until 6 pm on Monday and Tuesday). The alfredo is really good. Price is Q60/person if you stay 5 nights or more. Most importantly, it’s stunningly beautiful and mostly peaceful. We were the only overlanders other than @matugatu4x4 (who we planned to camp with). There were some tent campers on the weekend. There was one loud and late event on the weekend. But the rest of the week was quite quiet. Other amenities to mention: there is an outdoor kitchen with a sink for dishes. There are two bathrooms with very cold showers, but the men’s showers ended up not being operable. The hotel said they would open a room so we could shower, but we never took them up on it. There is a good-sized swimming pool that’s fairly clean. And there’s a playground with swings and a slide that our son loved, plus some climbing trees. I will say that the event guests always trashed the place, so the kitchen and bathrooms were often quite dirty. The staff came around eventually to clean. I know there’s another campground in San Marcos, but it sounds super crowded. I didn’t want to leave this beautiful place. I think it’s special.

Report Check-In

Bel endroit, Herbe verte et belle vue. Cependant la piscine est sale, les toilettes et douches impraticable. La wifi est très mauvaise. C’est beau mais cher. Le personnel est gentil. Mitigée

Report Check-In

Stayed here 3 nights. Beautiful view right at the water. Friendly staff and walking distance (but steep!) to the public lanchas so you can explore other areas around the lake. Showers and bathrooms were not as bad as expected. Some trash laying around and very spotty Wifi. All in all a good location to stay and check out the area...

Report Check-In

Great looking spot, grassy field, soccer field adjacent, restaurant across the street. Easy to take a tuk tuk into Pana. We did not camp here but drove by it several times per day and I wish we would have. Next time!

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

The view and the landscaped property are beautiful. The showers and bathrooms are sub-par. For the price, the bathrooms and showers should be better. It was good to have the van in a secure location while exploring. Also, the staff was very welcoming and kind. Once done exploring though…If you are self contained, check out the football field/parking on the other side of town which is free.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for one night. 75 quetzals per Person. The spot is very nice and right in front of the lake but they Pool and the bathrooms are dirty.

At some sites there is electricity.

Don’t come here on weekends, there is a party/wedding location right next to the campground. It could be loud at night.

Report Check-In

If you like disgusting showers, toilets, the smell of horse pee and don't mind becoming a part of a wedding or birthday party (because this is what this place is used for by the hotel), this is your place to be. Despite the view to the lake, you become nothing more for your 75 Qtz. p.P.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for three weeks with our truck camper and a dog. Beautiful view of the lake, reasonably priced (100 Q a night) (Attention, a Carlos wanted to pay us only 150Q, at the reception it costs only 100 Q). Wifi went more times less well, just like electricity. Bathroom very simple, we were allowed to take a warm shower in guest rooms. Super friendly people. Stayed a few days in San Pedro and left the camper (50 Q a night). A bit muddy in the rainy season. Yes, also a lot of garbage. The guests (on weekends there is a lot going on) leave everything standing and lying down, even on the shore a lot of garbage.

Report Check-In

Full of garbage when we were here. With garbage came dogs barking at the van. At the free spot there’s no dogs barking and much less garbage. Also the super expensive at 150 for the van for one night.

Report Check-In

We stayed here! We had our own little nook over looking the lake. Went for a dip, we were with a few other overlanders... we would recommend it!

Some say the showers are dirty... I don’t think so. My standards aren’t low... I am just happy to have clean water- I found it rather basic and refreshing if anything. Seemed to me like they were maintaining the property well.

Hope you get to enjoy it too!!

Report Check-In

Still the same comments for us. $75pp is a bit high, but I guess the view makes up for it?!you can use electricity and they let us shower in one of the rooms. Good food in the restaurant; we had shrimp and crepes!, Good location. Friendly guys

Report Check-In

This place has an incredible view, you can park on the grass close to the lake. It’s 75Qpp and that’s to expensive because the toilets and the showers are disgusting. It’s sad they have a place with a lot of possibilities but cleaning the toilet is to much work for them. I talked with them and I used the toilet in the hotel. Don’t go back thetoilets is to m

Report Check-In

Bahia de Atitlan Inn the right name now - they have new owner at the place. The place is nice and the view is incredible nice. You park right at the lake. The price is 75Q/pp and have to pay for the kids as well. There is electricity and water as well. Swimming pool and playground for the kids. Basic amnities but they have outside shower.

Report Check-In

Many trash, toilets and showers dirty, pool no clean, 75q per person.

Report Check-In

Great spot for camping right on the lake. Price was 75Q per person. Quiet and relaxing. They have bathrooms and showers, as well as a small beach that you can access from the camp. Short walk to town!

Report Check-In

Guided by IOverlander update we came to Bahia Del Lago to find a place to park and camp with rooftent.
We paid 60 Q to stay here for one night or 2 pearsons and a SUV with tent. Could use showers, water, toillets and electricity. Even good wifi at the hotel lobby.
You park and camp on a grassy place with a perfect view of the lake.
This place is reached when you come down the road, before you reach the city. It is a little road maybee 500 meters before The town. A good reference is the entrance of a big resort.
Yo can use also the pool if you ask.

Report Check-In

nice place, big green area, next to the lake, with water and electricity. amenities are nothing extra but the pool is ok and they charged a reasonable price (60/adult, kids free).

Report Check-In

View priceless, facilities worthless: No shower, dirty toilets, swimming pool empty. Charged 150q for 2 people 1 vehicle.

Report Check-In

Q150 a night. Too much for us especially with all the rain and swamp like conditions. Stayed in Posada downtown for same price and secure parking. Rooms a fair quality for same price, with a little wifi!

Report Check-In

Achtung! Totaler Drecksplatz. Diskussion zwecklos. Lieber 300 m weiter fahren!!!

Report Check-In

We visited this spot, there is other manager and the price is Q 150/night. He saw the price no negotiable. We don't stay.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for 4 nights. It's a really good place with an awesome view on the lake. They now ask for 150q/night to sleep that we strongly negotiated for 80q/night.
The site is full of trash. It's now 3 young people who only speak Spanish who manage the site. They do nothing to clean and they are super lazy! The pool is very green. We took a shower on the lake so we didn't try showers here. We asked if they had something to dump and they bring us to the corner of the site. You can refill you tank. Be careful hard mosquitoes.
Recommended for the view but site not well managed !

Report Check-In

Very nice place to stay, one of the best we have stay in Guatemala. The owner is an american lady, so if its close, just ring the bell at the big house. We paid 150 q/night for a 24 feet rv, and we had plenty space to choose. They also give you electricity, water, clean bathrooms in the hotel across the street, and hot shower. They also have a pool and an amazing view to the lake. 10 min walking from the town and the boats.

Report Check-In

stay here for 3 nights. you need to ring the bell by the neighbors they will open the gate. they wanted 150Qz.per night but after negotiate we paid the normal price 80Qz. the grassy area is big and direct on the Lake. nice view. the bathroom very dirty and showers are cold. this 3 guys who worked here are friendly but very sloth. if they do more it will be a nice campsite.

Report Check-In

Large grassy area. Bathrooms not so bad. Cold showers. Able to refill our water. Could plug in if needed. Picked up week WiFi signal from main house. Wedding on Saturday, police party on Tuesday. But we were tucked under trees out of the way of both. Paid 80q per night after some haggling. Hard to beat the views from here.

Report Check-In

No rain so the place was beautiful. Big grassy area, we parked under a palmtree. Paid 100Q per night, they provided us an extension to use electricity. The toilets were not the cleanest, but they were ok. Nice pool and views of the lake and volcanoes.

Report Check-In

DISGUSTING bathrooms! there were a lot of young guys "working" there while we were there. they made us feel very unwelcoming and stared at us all the time.

Report Check-In

Unfortunatly this meadow is a swamp right now at the end of the rainy season. Last week they had to tow out an overlander with a grua.

Report Check-In

The view is stunning and the people are very nice and helpful. The asking price is 100 Q per night now, after negotiations we agreed on 80Q. Bathroom are still in bad conditions!

Do Not attempt to camp if it has rained for more than one day! The grassy area turns into a mud flied and you will get stuck. We have an F350 with good all terrain tires and got stuck. We had to pay 1500Q to get pulled out by a big rig tow truck.

Report Check-In

stayed 3 nights, paid 65Q per night. 2 pers with camper van. for a warm shower you have to ask the guard if you can use the bathroom of the rooms in the main building across the street.

Report Check-In

Water, WC and warm showers. Everything in bad shape, no proper treatment and service. Great view

Report Check-In

This place is also called Vision azul. We payed 80q a night, cold showers, no wifi. Big place directly at the lake

Report Check-In

This campground is now definitively closed. Buildings were left open and were empty of all furniture. Park is overgrown with vegetation.Gates were locked with chains and deadbolt. Too bad, because this is a gorgeous property.

Report Check-In

I don't think the bathrooms are that bad. Bring your own TP. The view sure beats a parking lot, and the price sure beats that expensive place. It's all locked up when you arrive, but shortly after pulling up to the gate a man greeted us. Due to the mixed reviews we looked around first. Bathrooms are clean enough. Seen WAY worse. The water was not on, but they had it running in no time. The huge grass lot with amazing views is very tranquil all day and night. you don't need to ask about electricity. There is a plug on every large tree in the lot. The pool looked clean, but we didn't try. There is a gazebo with a big cooking grill, and large sink for dishes. We also washed our clothes in it too. He asked 80Q we paid 60Q, and if you plan to stay more then a night I'm sure you could keep talking him down more. Tigo works great 4G.

Report Check-In

We returned to this spot and was disappointed to see the place is really starting to run down. Nothing is being maintained, the hotel/restaurant has been closed down. The grounds need work, the bathrooms are neglected. BUT the view and location is still spectacular! I hope someone takes on this project and restores it. We were quoted 80 Q for one night with electric. After negotiating, he accepted 60 Q happily. Quiet, windy, and beautiful.

Report Check-In

Pro: great view + cheap + walking distance to pana

Cons: really disgusting bathroom, pool not maintained (do not(!) let your kids go into the pool, they will get sick for sure), no wifi, very agressive bugs/mosquities

Next time we would either go to San Marcos (even though the road down there is really bad) or we pay the higher price at Hotel Tzanjuju which is 500m away from Bahia del Lago.

Report Check-In

Place is going downhill... Since the lat time we stayed here showers and bath rooms have gone worse. Smelly and bit dirty.. Also the swimming pool probably infected us with a bug since two of our grouo of four went sick and fellow travellers reported the same symptoms. The view is still breathtaking though, we were allowed to make a nice bonfire and the price of 60 QTZ is reasonable (as long as you don't use the pool;)). Hopefully they will upgrade the property while remodelling of the hotel is being done, looking forward to future updates on this place.

Report Check-In

Nice place juste in front of lake Atitlan. There is a pool and bathrooms. There is a shower but the water is cold. 8 minutes walk from Panajachel. 80 Q per night.

Report Check-In

we payd Q100 for two nights with electric, they ask Q80 for one night. The pool was empty. verry nice place.

Report Check-In

gorgeous, quiet spot only 15 min walk into town. I paid q25 for one night but didn't have access to shower or toilet.

best thing about the spot was how tranquil it was. there where only two other campers and the hotel was closed. the view was pretty spectacular too.

Report Check-In

great place to stay
they opened a room in the house for bathroom use
75Q per night
best option close to town

Report Check-In

Excellent place to stay! The views are amazing! We pay Qz 75 per night all concept! // Excelente lugar para quedarse! La vista es impresionante! pagamos Qz 75 en total.

Report Check-In

Camped here for the second time. Camping area is still open however the hotel is now closed while remodeling. You need to talked to the owners at the white house across the hotel next to the pool/camping area so they can let you in. Be aware of the prices listed on iOverlander. We just corrected them. There's no more internet access and showers are now cold. Still a great spot to camp at with great views

Report Check-In

The restaurant and hotel are closed at the moment due to change of ownership. However, there is a guard while the people in the white house next door have the key to the camping ground and take the fee. It is a great site with awesome views over the lake and very close to Panajachel. We stayed 14 days here. Bugs are a bit of a nuisance early morning and evening but jeans and Johnson's "Off" keep them at bay. No wifi, but very good wifi in Panajachel

Report Check-In

We visited this Place today, 02.April 2016. It is closed!!!!

Report Check-In

Beautiful but expensive spot right on the lake. 50q per person per night but since were 3 cars and 6 people, we were able to negotiate them down to 33q per car (which you only have to pay one time). Bathrooms with hot showers, wifi, electricity at sites, and awesome view of the volcanos. Restaurant onsite, as well.

Report Check-In

Nice resort with great grassy camping area. Gorgeous view of Lake Atitlan and the volcanoes San Pedro, Toliman and Atitlan. There's a pool and restrooms near the camping area. Pricey in our opinion. 50 Quetzales per person per day plus 50 Quetzales per vehicle the first day. It came to 150 Quetzales the first day and 100 the second day.

Report Check-In

At 75Q per person with an additional charge of 50Q for the vehicle very much not worth the money. Nice view though. We were there when there was a large group visiting so bathrooms were a mess and there was rubbish everywhere but people had already begun cleaning up when we left in the morning, so suspect it is usually pretty well maintained.

Friendly and nice staff. We paid 100Q/Night or 50Qpp/Night. We negociated them down from 75Q pp. Parked right by the lake with a spectacular view of the volcanoes. We liked it here.

Report Check-In

Beautiful nature reserve where it is possible to camp. Entry is 65q per person and 65 more for camping. Clean bathrooms, hot showers. No internet. Hiking trails, zip lines, beach by the lake... Very informative boards about the area, history, environmental issues, etc. grassy area to camp and possible to access it by van.

Report Check-In

Gorgeous spot, nice people. Electric, wifi only at restaurant...not at campsite. Water fill up if you ask. Showers and bathroom near campsite. $10pp tuk tuk to town. Nature Reserve next door with monkeys and butterflies. They have a sweet girl that will wash your clothes for a fee if you ask....by hand and line dried.

Report Check-In

great view, but too expensive. 150 Q for a night, the second night it would have been 100 Q. we moved to the neighbours.

Report Check-In

Beautiful location but a bit pricy for parking. The reception was not open to any bargaining and was pretty unfriendly.

Report Check-In

Good grassy area just in front of the lake. Eletricity at campsite and bathrooms. Lots of mosquitos on certain times. Paid 150 quetzales.

Report Check-In

More expensive than listed. We paid 250 for an RV and 2 Adults and 2 children. However the view is gorgeous

Report Check-In

Breathtaking view of the volcanos from a great campsite. Although the sand flies are kind of annoying, we still stayed almost two weeks. 100 Q per night (50 pp and first night 50 for the truck) and good internet. Showers and bathrooms are basic but with warm water. Pool is good enough for a swim and TulTuks take you down town for 15Q or you can walk 15 mins. Recommended.

Report Check-In

Negotiated 40Q pp per night. Hot showers, clean bathrooms, bbq area, beautiful view, free wifi at cafe. 10 min walk into town, or 10Q mototaxi. Quiet and dark at night, but moderate amount of bitey bugs.

Report Check-In

Been here for 8 days as it is gorgeous. Hot showers, close to site, a couple of locations with power and just an amazing view, excellent little town with boat rides across the lake. 150q first night and 100 per day after.

Report Check-In

You can't ask for a better view. The biting flies are bad, but only during certain times of the day, if you wear long pants it's not much of a problem. Pool & playground for kiddos. The showers are hot, but you must make sure the lights are switched on and only turn the water knob a small amount. Bargain for a better rate the longer you stay.

Report Check-In

Plenty of grassed area on the lake shore, 150 Q first night, 100 Q following nights. Very bad small biting flies. Bathrooms so and so.

Report Check-In

2 Nights; First they asked for 300Q. 50 for the Camper and 50 per Person also for Kids. After we payed 200Q/ Night. They had a lot of dayvisitors as it was holiday. During the night it was quiet. Lots of mosquitos. Able to make a fire.

Report Check-In

Beautiful view of the lake and three volcanoes. We paid 150 Quetzales for the first night, then 80 Quetzales a day for the weekly rate. Staff was not that friendly, they disconnected mostly the WiFi (signal bahia) for the sites - at least the wifi at the reception (signal recepcion) worked most of the time. The showers and toilets were not that clean...

Report Check-In

Beautiful resort located directly on Lake Atitlan with everything.

Price: $ 13.00

Report Check-In

Beautiful location next to the lakeside. Pool in the garden. 100 GTQ / night

Report Check-In

We did not stay here, but other travelers who we met here in Pana. Taste 50QZ/Person. Quiet, beautiful lawn, but doche in right piece walk away from Pana. Showers were not really very warm. If you do not necessarily need a lot of tourists to have that place to sleep at Pierre's in San Marcos, the much better alternative!

Report Check-In

Hotel Vision Azull has a fantastic location right on the shores of Lago de Atitlan. We were a little bit surprised that the prices had increased from what was mentioned in the Church & Church book, but it looked as the new owner had done some upgrading. It is just outside town, but not more than about 10-15 minutes walk.

Price: 150 quetzales
