Slept here for a month or so, plenty of people on weekends, cars with music at night. Weekdays pretty calm al day. There are flies and mosquitos but a nice breese to. Walking distance to downtown. Never left nothing outside and nothing was ever missing. Wouldn't ever pay for the camping. Some mornings there are howler monkeys and squirrel. Surf over the start of town

Hi guys!
We stayed 5 minutes by foot from here, at the beginning of Playa Langosta precisely, near a villa house. We stayed here one night with our tent, everything was good.
We didn’t like Tamarindo too much, very touristic!

Report Check-In

Stayed here for one night in rooftop tent. Signs say no camping and police drive by many time throughout the night and never said anything to us. We parked to the far left which was farther from the beach club music, it still went on until 2am but the waves helped with the sound. There were some questionable people asking if we wanted drugs and then cops later looking for them in the brush but beside that we felt safe. There are a lot of little crabs and we also saw raccoons so be careful. Would recommend!

Report Check-In

We spent two nights here with others overlanders. Quiet night.
Don't recommend let your car alone during the night, too dark.

Report Check-In

Nice spot direct on the beach under the trees near the camping. A lot of different places to park. Easy access. "No camping" written at the entrance of this parking lot but Police drove 10 times in front of us without saying anything. Very close to the center. Quiet at night.

Nice place to stay while visiting Tamarindo. A bit outside of the Center but close enough to walk to everywhere. You can use the bathroom from the camping (but if they see you, you had to pay). We stayed here for a couple of days and feeled safe. It can be busy during the day but in the morning and night it is quiet

Report Check-In

We were not big fans of the crowded touristy city of tamarindo so we only stayed one night here but it was nice no one bothered us however the bugs were CRAZY

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

We stayed here for one night without a problem. Police patrolled during the night but didn‘t seem to bother.
We had a quiet night even though it was a friday:)

Report Check-In

GREAT Spot! We stayed here for three nights Feb 3-6, 2022 under the Tamarindo trees with the beach on our doorstep. Lots of parking spots to choose from. Police pass by every few hours but never disturbed us.

We used the showers at the nearby camp grounds for 1,000 colones each and also filled our two jugs of water. Pato, who runs the grounds is very friendly.

Report Check-In

A few meters from the sea, during the day many people but at night super quiet. ideal point to leave the car and get to know the city that is very touristy and busy
We were afraid that the police would take us away but they kept making rounds and never told us anything. we stayed 4 nights here

Free, safe since you are surrounded by other campers, breezy and plenty of trees for shade, is right on the beach. Close to bars and restaurants, it is a little bit noisy if you have people drinking during the night or waking you up to ask if you have a recovey cable to help them to pull their stuck car out of the sand.

We camped here on a monday. Couple of hours after 4 more vans and campers came here also amd camped.
No problems and very quiet only 10 meters from the water.
Many shadows and trees.
No facilities but a nice place to stay.

Report Check-In

Spent the night here as other options in tamarindo were very expensive and not so nice.

Despite comments of theft and break-ins, we had no issues nor saw anything sketchy. However, we were here Jan 1st and it was a madhouse - people were camping all around us so that made us feel safe. We also slept in our vehicle. I’m not sure how it would be in off-season.

Disclaimer - there are no facilities here and people use the grounds as toilets as evident by toilet paper strewn about. No privacy to squat so you’ll have to find washrooms in town which is not difficult.

There’s additional camping (parking) slightly north on the beach beside a restaurant. They have a gated parking lot behind as well, we saw overlanders there. I assume they offer washrooms and security.

Report Check-In

Attempted break-in on our stowaway box on the back of our vehicle. Husband ran the guy off who was painstakingly prying it open. As we were leaving we saw a suspicious looking guy at the entrance to the beach when we left around 3am. Be alert when staying here.

Report Check-In

We spent a week in this place, extremely nice and quiet. The city is beautiful and very touristy. Undoubtedly a good point to meet her.
