nice cool place in the rain forest, friendly people otherwise as the discribtions before. I am on my own but have also to pay 500 Mets.

We just had a little stopover to have breakfast. The people were very friendly and allowed us to have a break. Lovely and very peaceful place with a lot of birds singing!

500 MT for 2 people. Beautiful forest. Quiet night.
No running water but they gave us a hot bucket water for the shower.
Restaurant and bar available. Possible to walk around.

Pleasant forest camp as described. No running water, in the process of digging a well. Super clean bucket toilets. 500 met for two people and a vehicle for the night. Really only one flat spot to camp, would be difficult with a much bigger rig, we are 2.3m tall. Excellent cell service on Movitel.

BTW, I forgot to mention, that they got green light to create their own borehole. So in the ‘near future’ they will have running water.

We really enjoyed this community camp a lot! It’s absolutely worth it to stop here for bit longer than just 1 night. The team is super friendly, the food is great value for money and the forest is stunning. The camp is 60% owned by the community and 40% by a NGO which helped the village to establish the lodge. The local community makes their own - very lovely - which is also sold in the camp.

Also really recommended to go on the 5-6 hour elephant tracking in the nearby jungle. Our local guide José knew all the ins & outs of the forest and was able to bring us very close to seeing wild elephants.

All of the above. Great stop en route to Inhassoro from Tete. Good food and cold beer!

Camp and forest worth visiting. Our big rig (height 3.5m; length 6.5m) made it up to the hill after some trees were cut by staff. There is a beautiful walking path around the camp (ca. 30 min.) which gives an idea about the jungle which used to be in the wider area. paid MZN 500 per vehicle per night. We regretted that we did not eat in the camp restaurant (later we learnt that the camp has brand-new gas operated fridges so food is safely cooled). In the evening camp-fire was lightened. Manager Nelson and staff are engaged and friendly.

We were driving from Inhassoro to Chimoio which took way longer than expected (this road is REALLY bad). We weren’t gonna make it to Chimoio so arrived here in the dark around 7ish. We called an hour or so before and were able to pre-order a meal as well (as we read in the reviews here the chicken is really good and only 375mt). We had a warm welcome and not longer after our chicken was served at our campsite. No running water available but buckets with warm water can be provided. 500mt per verhicle and a perfect stop after a long day of driving.

Report Check-In

Nelson and his team really helpful! The dinner of half a chicken 375m and 200m for a quarter. Nice breakfast for 300m. Good stopover point but the camping spot are uneven. Not 100% bigrig friendly but only 100m climb from the mainroad to get there. We managed at 10t and 9m length. Truly community spirit but of great quality and price! 500m camping per vehicle. No charge per person. Recommend for a night or two. No power and water but toilets and showers very clean.

Nelson is still here. 500 mt per tent. Still no running water. Generator runs 2 hours a day. Will make hot bucket shower if needed. As it was very shady and they had no electricity, we couldn’t charge our car batteries for fridge. Not a place to stay too long if you need charging. Otherwise peaceful and nice. Had coconut chicken and rice which was good for 375

1 or 2 bar vodacom 3g. Slow unstable internet

Very hospitable welcome. Started making my own fire but someone took over as they thought I should I relax. Firewood was provided for free. I payed 250 MET pppn for camping with rtt, which was way too little for the shady spot in the forest and the warm welcome. Only ones here at the moment. Sign and entrance is hidden so watch out while on N260 highway (good road btw).

Ive spent a great 3 nights camping here. The hot water still comes in a bucket, and you need to ask them to turn the running cold water on, but the bathrooms are clean, and the staff are friendly. Restaurant is superb and well priced. They also turned on the generator when I needed to charge batteries etc. Elephant walks in the forest were beautiful, not elephants so far though.

Good community campsite/ Lodge.

Didn't see the campsite as we got here late.

Paid:
MT4000 (63US) for a 6 sleeper house
MT375 (6US) for half chicken and chips
MT250 (4US) for full breakfast
MT80 (1.2US) for large beer

Food excellent and they have a nice fireplace where they light a fire in the evenings.

House and chalets have power in the day or when generator runs. Western toilets and cold water showers. They can bring buckets of hot water if you want. Rooms are very clean and service is good.

As per previous comments, they have all the facilities to have running hot water yet don't seem to fix it? Also a lot of litter around which distracts from the beauty of this place.

Drive here is very scenic and not many pot holes on the road from Chimoio.

Report Check-In

We stayed in the 6 sleeper chalet and paid MT2500 for the four of us. The chalet was great but for there being no hot water. We were happy with the hot water that was provided in buckets... but as previously mentioned, they should really get the hot water working. The campsites looked good the ablutions clean.

Stayed here 2 nights. Nice drive, tar road before Sussudenga has pot holes after Sussudenga road is good tar. Manager Nelson friendly with good English. No hot showers. Water still not working, only when they run the generator. Seems an easy problem which is not fixed. Food Zambesi chicken is great best to preorder in the afternoon. Indeed with our Unimog we had to push through the trees, access road not maintained well, but they cut some branches for us. It’s a great project to support the locals and hopefully save some of forest...

Resturant was fantastic. Had Chicken Zambezi! It was the best so far in Mozambique. Stunning scenery and great mountain drive on Nice tar Road to get to camp. Well worth the effort. Rondarval available too and possibly dorm rooms for bigger groups.

Report Check-In

Beautiful community campsite in forest reserve. Awesome scenery. Road from Chimoyo and to Dombe wonderful scenery through mountains on tar. Water pumps run on solar, and not working due to lots of rain before we arrived. They brought us a large drum of water and buckets to flush toilets.

Report Check-In

We did not camp here, bcs we were very early. We drove by the access road and would not call it big rig friendly bcs we saw lots of low hanging branches. There is a level area a few meters up the hill, where big rigs could park if you arrive too late and find out that you do not fit in.
