Description

MODERATOR NOTE: Locals don't support camping here!

Lovely park, easy to walk as the path is crushed shells vs. pavement, always a nice breeze also fun to watch fish & turtles. Everyone is friendly! Only negative is there are no restrooms but There is a water fountain. Park is closed from 12AM-4AM. Can not stay overnight.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for one night in a converted SUV. We arrived well past sunset, and left early in the morning before sunrise. It was very cold, so we were pretty sure no one would bother us. It certainly is a lovely little park, and very quiet throughout the night.

I live a few blocks away. Every once in a while you can get away with staying there, but lately the elderly people in the Condo's (Town Shores) have been complaining. The police usually won't bother you if you only are there 1 night. No generators due to there is a house right next to the parking lot. And don't feed the ducks. You will get fined. Again the grumpy peeps. You can hang out during the day no problems. There is a pavilion around the lake and a covered picnic area by the small parking area. Dogs are fine there, everyone walks theirs around the small pond. It has 2 pretty water fountains and lots of wildlife. It is in a town named Gulfport which is located at the South side of St. Petersburg. 58th Street South. If you go farther down by the water (walking distance) there are parks and covered picnic tables, a pier, restaurants , bars, shops, fishing, volleyball. Plenty of out door eating. It is an "artsy" quaint town that is great for a stroll thru the streets. Tuesday's is fresh market day. First and third Saturdays is the art walk nights. Our motto is "Keeping Gulfport Weird".
