Want to confirm there are restrictions on this road. We tried to drive into Antofogasta around 4 pm, but the road was closed. We waited there until 5 pm because it was faster than going around to the south. I think the reason for closures is the steep altitude drop into the city that causes accidents. But for anyone who has driven Peru 8B, this level of caution seems like a bit much. :)
Report Check-Inon est passé entre les plots, car des voitures l'on fait devant nous et aucun problème pour rentrer dans antofagasta
Report Check-InMultiple road signs leading up to here say no entry this way. Seems they have imposed time limits on entry of light vehicles now as well within the last few weeks. We drove around to the south to avoid potential hassle. Only an extra 15 minutes. Local resident advised us not to take this road too.
Report Check-InThe signs said “no camiones” but did not have a weight limit posted. We went for it and it was fine. We are in a truck camper (more than 3.5t but not a camión). No check point. No scale. No police. There is a long hill ending in the city, trust your brakes?
