Pretty close to Dalton Well, theres several large sites with fire rings. Great views of Mt Waas and peaks of Moab/Arches NP. The road is dirt and can get rough at times, but we saw plenty of RV's and trailers get out there. You MUST bring your own toilet as the area is ecologically sensitive immediately outside of the campsites themselves.

Great spot. Amazing night sky. 1 bar Verizon. State park ranger usually drives the area in the morning but does not approach. No one is monitoring whether fees are paid or not. Stayed one night and moved west down the road to an area that had wind protection. Wind was rocking the van. Had the area to myself.
There is a Porta-potty.
When you exit highway 191 to enter Dalton Rd, and past the construction site, there is a wash area with soft sand. 4WD is NOT needed. I went steady in a regular van at 15mph in 2nd gear and cruised thru no problem. 5th wheelers are passing thru the wash no problem.
Area picks up in activity on weekends with atvs and motorcycles.
Report Check-InShortly after you turn left here there is a steep 4x4 obstacle, but after that there are a lot of spots the further you go.
