The turn off for this place is tricky and can easily be passed if not attentive. I missed it the first time but going the opposite direction made seeing it easier so don’t worry if you pass it the first time too. The road is rough and high clearance is needed here. 4x4 would be nice but not needed. My rear wheel drive Dodge 1500 Ram Van made it with ease.

DO NOT EVER COME HERE. I was just here and got pulled up by 4 trucks who were trying to pin me in. Luckily I was able to grab my keys and get out. Very very close
Report Check-InThe GPS mark on Google maps is off so keep going. Didn’t stop at the trailhead as I wanted to explore further up the road first — Lytle Creek Road goes up a ways before turning into a rough dirt road at the top. Didn’t explore that either but spoke with a guy who was airing up his tires and he said he got 30-40 minutes up the rough road with his 2wd truck before needing to turn around.
There are several pull-outs along the paved section of Lytle Creek Road that are potential camping spots. We stopped at a large one by a wash and hiked the wash and it was really nice. Found a random couch set there by what could be a camping spot if you drive down the wash a short distance and considered camping there but decided against it. If you have 4WD it’d be fun to explore.
We ended up deciding not to camp off Lytle Creek Road due to several reasons but wanted to leave a review with the additional information in case it can help anyone out :)
Report Check-InFairly easy to find. Road was a bit slippery but doable with AWD in our Element. It’s definitely a local hangout spot to drink, shoot guns, party.
Big pullout with great views but road noise and other people kind of ruin it.
