Description

Semuc Champey a second! Similar to the Rio On Pools in Belize it has here natural pools in the river levels. Perfect January-March and June-July. In April and in the rainy season the river swells and becomes too strong. We stayed here in September, the waterfall was like the Rhine Falls in Switzerland, absolutely monstrous! Admission is 50QZ/Person for foreigners. You can sleep in front of goal in several parking areas. Update: 10 QZ additional for one vehicle. The area should be quiet. But we are on, because we could not swim. Dogs were also allowed! Access is via a gravel road in very good condition. On the paved road you have to point at N 15.82680 ° W 89.45043 ° north direction, turn to the point here.

Super endroit pour dormir. Au calme. Le matin nous avions les singes hurleurs au dessus de nous. Les cascades sont sympas pour la baignade, les chiens sont autorisés.

Great place to sleep. Quiet. In the morning we had howler monkeys above us. The waterfalls are great for swimming, dogs are allowed.

Nice perfect parking under the trees! We’ve stopped here while going from Semuc to Tikal arriving at 16, no one showed or asked for money and we are 10 mt. from the park entrance. No facilities but great park and awesome nature noise around you!

Stayed here for a night as a stop over, you park right outside the gate and we felt perfectly safe. The waterfall was a bit underwhelming, not sure if because of all the rain it's really brown right now, but we had just came from chemuc with blue crystal clear water....50qtz pp, we asked the guy if the bathrooms were open all night but the gate was locked.

Report Check-In

Officially 50 Q entrance per person, 10 per vehicle. You can park in the dirt parking lot outside the gate. No it's not secured, but there's not much around here either so it felt pretty safe. The guy at entrance said the river was too high for swimming now as it was raining more than normal over the past few weeks. He said we could still go in, but we wanted to swim so we kept going! Hopefully will be good enough for swimming soon.

This spot has a nice waterfall and areas to swim, we are in a 20ft rv and there wasn't anywhere secure to park our vehicle. the facility has tent camping inside locked gates but no place for vehicles. we paid an extra 25 for the vehicle to camp in parking lot, access to toilets. they only have an open outdoor shower available. there is nothing out here either so make sure you bring provisions for food etc. the dirt road in is fairly easy and manageable for all vehicles.

Report Check-In

We were charged 50Q pp for entrance (as posted) and 25Q to park overnight, we tried to negotiate but they wouldn't go any lower. The parking is located away from the river and waterfalls, very unlevel, so we parked across from the entrance in front of a closed tienda next to the street. The waterfalls are beautiful, the water level was high so the current was strong, limiting swimming. You can hike both upstream and downstream for more views.

Very nice place to hang out and swim. You can also jump from the waterfalls! 50q for foreigners, 20q for locals. 5q parking cars and 10 trucks, but we didn't get charged for the parking. Inside we met the mayor and he told us we can camp here for free.

Report Check-In

50pP for the entrance to the pools/waterfalls, 10 for the car to stay overnight.
You can park in the parking or 200m before you arrive the parking, we could stay behind a fence and build up our tent.
