Arrived 7AM on a Tuesday and was 6th in line. Gate opened at 8. Straight forward customs experience. Paid SRD780 for a Defender and myself. They inspected a few vehicles, but not mine. Maybe ‘cause they were curious and I already had shown my set up set up... Very friendly and professionals.

From Suriname to Guyana
We arrived the night before and camped in front of the fence. When we woke up at 6:00 there was already a line of cars behind ours. The ferry departs at 10:00, the fence opens at 8:00 and closes at 9:00. The ferry has a capacity of about 20 vehicles and was full when we traveled. Additional crossing may be made if required by demand. You must show your liability insurance for Guyana to buy a ticket. The whole procedure took about 30 min. Crossing time is nearly 1 hour; Guyana is 1 hour behind Suriname.

Steps:
- Buy ticket; insurance is checked and passport handed in
- Wait for passport to be handed back
- Have passport stamped at Immigration
- Return TIP at customs
- Have vehicle checked by Customs
- Proceed to ferry
