Description

Oasis in the desert. Nice spring with variety of birds visiting. Pit toilet, no water, two fire pits, two picnic tables, good areas to park. Pack it in, pack it out, leave it better than you found it.

This spot can be found on recreation.gov, no reservations needed.

T mobile and Verizon service. From our spot we got around 30mbps down 5-15mbps up.

Worth the drive if you take the better road to get there! We followed google maps and went the long way on the way in and it was a bit rough. Take the 1250 S/ Tiffler road entrance (screen shot attached). Beautiful spot, pit toilet, small spring with running water, shade trees, cows in the distance.

Even though it's a week before Memorial Day weekend, the locals have come and dropped off their rigs. All the areas were taken. I would assume anytime except a holiday would be a good time for this place. Moving on.

Report Check-In

When we got here it looks like a few people left their trailers to claim spots for presumably the Memorial Day Weekend next week. They never appeared back during our short stay.

This was unfortunate because it forced us to choose a more exposed spot and we had some 30-40mph gusts that woke us around 1-3am.

Overall very quiet except for the cows calling and the gusty wind at times.

3 bars Tmobile 5g, 2-3 bars Verizon LTE.

Report Check-In

As others described. We came in from route 81 and took 1250S west because the gravel road is half as long that way.

Got here pretty late. Pretty dark out here if you come in at night. Only one car though. Nice and quiet except for the crickets. Which isn't a complaint. Love it. Definitely will have to come back. I have full 5G with T-mobile.

Great stop. The road is packed with gravel for 99% of the trip here. Turning through the first gate/cattle crossing off of the highway is a little tight, and there’s a few washout dips. The trees provide some shelter from any wind. You can see I84 off in the distance but you certainly can’t hear here. Solid Verizon service.

this is a beautiful little spot in the middle of nowhere! the trees act as a natural windbreak and the sounds of frogs lulled us to sleep. the spot is on a bit of a hill, so be prepared to level yourself or sleep at a slant. there is a pit toilet, which is cool, and it wasn't too bad. would definitely stop here again.

Intended to visit this site for a night, but camped farther south along the access road instead due to a large party already there (busy for Memorial Day Weekend). Some mud right before the campsite might be difficult for low clearance vehicles. Nice area, and quiet.

Stayed about a mile away from here on Y in the dirt road just after the cattle guard. We could have made it all the way to the springs in our Transit van as we walked down there later that evening. The springs are amazing, just a small stream coming down but was surprised to see all the green plants growning in the stream with the cold 30- 40 degree weather. 1 pit toilet, no other services at all. Very quiet!

I stayed here one night. I got there right before sunset and about 6 pickup trucks full of kids arrived right after and stayed for about an hour. I talked to one of the older ones and they seemed fine. but I worried all night if they had played a prank like locking the gate at the highway. I wouldn't stay there again solo. 3 mile gravel road in good condition but a couple sections looked like slick mud when it rains.

Nice place! Almost no traffic other than the very occasional local. Vault toilet on site, other than that bring it with you.

Pretty nice little spot. To the left more of a parking lot, to the right a picnic table & fire pit with a cooking grate. Cows were out grazing on the hills, great view of a mountain.

Oasis in the dessert. Nice spring with verity of birds visiting. Pit toilet, no water, one fire pit but good areas to park. Pack it in, pack it out, leave it better than you found it.
