They would not let the car past the first barrier. Next stop was Customs, who tried to charge 50,000 then refused to issue one. We escalated to the commander who told the first guy to issue it for the standard price of 11000 CFA. We were then let past the first barrier only to be chased down the road by Customs, insisting we go back to their compound, even though we already had the passavant. Once back there, they said all the paperwork was in order and we were free to go!.? Next barrier was apparently immigration who stamped our passports but insisted on 5000 - we gave then Guinea francs and they then insisted on 75,000 francs or 5000 CFA. We refused, got in the car and luckily the policeman there was distracted and raised the barrier for us to leave. There is a security guard here and he was happy to let us stay - he even gave us water for the toilet and a bucket of water for a wash! We insisted on giving him 10,000 GF and some kola nuts. The generators made a little bit of noise all night. Great spot! We were lucky because we were driving without shoes, but since we had them in the front we bluffed ourselves out of it... Open: Yes A checkpoint here looking for a way to give a fine. So we had to buy a CEDEAO in Guinnee itself. At the border we got a letter with us stating that we’ll get our passavant in the first city we would cross, .to easily drive through customs. They asked us to pay 50 000 GF for it, which we did because we thought it would be the receipt for the passavant as well(but we probably got bribed). When we arrived at the first customs and police and army we showed the letter, and they told us that we have to get an escort to pass Guinnee. When we refused and told them we only needed a passavant, they told us to wait for 30 minutes and then let us go to obtain a passavant at the next customs; they kept our receipt for the passavant though. When we arrived at the next customs, there finally were 2 guys that knew what we were talking about; he arranged the passavant but asked for our CEDEAO, we told him we had another type of carte de brune and found out ours wasn’t valid in Guinnee. He asked us to pay 50 000 GF for the passavant, Martin lost his shit and said we already paid. The guy went mad and said we should get out of his office and we wouldn’t get anything. After 10 minutes Shakura returned and tried to have a normal conversation again, paid 50 000 GF and got the passavant. The CEDEAO we tried to arrange in town but the CEDEAO’s didn’t seem legit, so we decided to drive to the next town; we were only stopped by police once and we showed our other Carte de Brune; luckily the guy didn’t notice. In the next town, we found this office; where we paid 40 to 45 euros for a CEDEAO for 3 months.
