We could not believe as we saw the advertising on the way to Geghard Monastery. But it is real and it is a Oasis with pool. The owner are a couple from the Netherlands and they are very very very friendly. You have a nice view over the valley. Camping costs 2500 per Person. It is a good place to stay and visit Eriwan, Garni and Geghard.
Private rooms and dormitory beds available. Parking in Garage available.
There is also sauna in the guesthouse. Homely environment.
The house is in the not-yet-named alley between Gabriel SunduKyan St and Avet Avetisyan street(location on booking com is correct ).250 metres from Barekamutyun (Druzhba) subway station.
Go down Gabriel SunduKyan St.,at the house 10,turn left into the alley.
Hard to find spots on this road. We stopped at this point, which turned out to be a ranger hideout. Lucky us we got invited to a celebration bbq going on and were allowed to stay overnight camping. Wonderful view!!
Close to the new road to Berd, nice view yet private spot. Flat grass on the edge of the field. 4wd or motorcycle advisable, although a good driver will make it down and up in a 2wd as well. Good vivacell 4g coverage.
Once you make it up the rough 4wd track, you will be rewarded with superb valley views and the site of an old monastery complex. Partly restored, partly half-ruined. A cool place. The monastery is abandoned but you might meet locals visiting the church. There is a picnic table and a source with potable water. OK vivacell 4g coverage.
Once you make it up the rough 4wd track, you will be rewarded with nice valley views and the opportunity to camp rough next to this abandoned monastery complex. Don't miss the main part, which is pretty much fallen apart and about 100m from the two restored buildings.
There is a picnic table and a spring onsite. Expect friendly locals to show up during the day. Enough even ground for overland vehicles or a tent. Slow but usable Vivacell 4g service.
One of the best campsites so far!
follow unpaved road from parking for monastery. Direction border fence. There are lots of possibilities to stay. At monastery toilets available. Water we got on last car wash station 1 km before you reach the parking.
Nice sunset and sunrise in front of little and big Ararat.
Cargo Terminal for pick up shipments or spare parts sent by automotive club from Europe.
A Custom Broker is necessary!
Lots of them located in the building.
Ground floor go straight through the wing door, back right counter. Getting your documents.
Opposite getting some stamps on it.
Go up 1st floor to room 204 or some other brokers. They will declare everything and organize the handling.
Most people there speaks English.
Friendly staff and service.
ATM and bank counter and food counter available there.
DHL office nearby located 1km before cargo terminal. They offer also the custom clearance (50.000Dram for Air-shipments).
We went directly to the terminal and got the service right there.
close to cargo terminal Yerevan. "Tro" speaks English and do everything to solve your car problems. Great hospitality. Got this contact from VW directly because we won't pay the normal VW tariffs to fix something.
We spent there 3 days/2nights.
Wifi and toilet available.
Cemetery nearby to get fresh drinking water.
12,000 D for twin with lounge. Small parking to side of hotel with CCTV. Nice place, clean and comfortable with fast wifi. Good spot if coming late from or heading to Iranian border. Can't miss it as you drive through town.
Directly across the road there is a flat area with trees and a pit toilet. Fire places and plenty of wood. Good spot - can be seen from road but not a problem as little traffic. Up the road at the cable car station is free fast wifi.
It is not where maps.me says it is. "Charges by the hour" we think but a good place if you can't afford other hotels in the area. Rooms are clean and have a lounge and strong wifi. We paid 15,000 per night but had to be out by 10am to accomodate 'other guests'. Parking behind curtain at front.
