It is not a really hidden spot. But since Iceland is a safe spot, it is not necessary to hide your camp that well.
The camp spot is next to a track who is used by joggers and horse riders.
So better come late, go early..
The track is ok for a normal SUV, not a bigger truck. The wild camp spot is just ok for 1 car.
Nice scenery, quiet, ok
A lovely spot, where you are hidden from other tracks, just you and some sheeps :-) Nice scenery on a small river.
Ok for up to 8 cars.
You can hear the cars on the F-Road on a decent level (it ispretty quiet), but there is no traffic when it is dark.
Large field for more than 40 vehicles. Went in mid June and about 20 vehicles were here. Showers, restrooms, washer (no dryer), power outlets in common area, right next to hidden waterfall cave, just up the street a few hundred meters from Selandrafoss. Couldn't find a pay box or price.
Good clean campground with two showers per gender, clean toilets, two separate stoves for cooking in the common room, tables and chairs for about 20 people, and lots of room for tents, trucks, campers, RVs. The larger unimogs might fit in spaces but might have a hard time entering the camp area. There is a parking lot a unimog could probably park in to camp. In June 2015 the fee was $9.50 per adult/night for tent camping. The fastest WiFi we've had in Iceland. Washer AND Dryer! See the photo with the opening schedule for details.

Large grassy site, friendly reception staff, would fit large rigs. Decent wifi speed, relatively clean restrooms but could have been better. Running water, showers. We showed up late and paid in the morning.
Very clean restrooms with plenty of RV and camping space. Running water and a fun trampoline. Not sure of the price as we just stopped here to use the restroom and jump on the trampoline bubble. :) Power hookups at some spots.
Nice remote area outside of town by the old global Comms antenna (taller than the Eiffel Tower!). Clean restrooms. Hot water doesn't cost extra for shower. Community room with sinks. Larger rigs like Unimogs might have trouble making the turn into the grass area. Dump zone and water refill stations.
This is a mountain hut on the Sprengisandur route. You can either sleep in your tent/car outside or book a room inside of the hut. The toiletts can be used by everyone but if you camp and would like to use the shower or kitchen then you need to pay.
Nice place to sleep a night on the highland route.
