BLM camping free! | Many nice gravel sites, most nearly level, rock fire rings. Lots of open space, windy but that’s nice since it’s 89° in November.

Anza-Borrego Desert State Park - Yaqui Wash Primitive Campground | Nice flat area with a rock fire ring. Easy drive in pickup truck camper (didn’t need to use 4wd), a little sandy road, but no problem for truck or 2wd Suzuki that followed. A little road noise from nearby road but few cars on it. We have 2 bars on Verizon. |
||
Emma Wood State Beach | RV sites right next to the beach. Surf is loud, it’s right there. Rock fire rings at each site, No hookups. Sites are first come first served until May 28, 2021. You’re up on a low bluff about 8 feet above the sand. Nice view! Verizon 5G has 3-4 bars. |

San Luis Reservoir Medeiros Area | Nice campsites right by the lake. Boat ramp is blocked off but we launched our kayak right at our campsite. Lots of birds, ducks. Some trees for shade, picnic tables, ramadas at most sites. Good Verizon signal 3 bars. $20/night, $2 senior discount. |

Lake mead view and swim | 4x4 road to get down to the beach. Good place to launch a kayak. We kayaked several times already. Lots of great camping up on the bluff a few hundred feet from the beach. Wild burros live in the nearby hills, you can sometimes hear them. Good LTE: 2-3 bars of Verizon signal here. |
||
Mittry Lake overlook | Nice view of the lake. We are actually 150’ east in another pullout that has a fire ring because the overlook already had 2 RVs in it. Very pleasant spot. It’s 75° F today in late February. Good Verizon signal. |
||
Domeland Road turnout | 2 bars Verizon LTE here. Continue on 1.2 miles to Domelands Trailhead. |

Domeland Road turnout | Just off the dirt & gravel road going to Domelands trailhead. Located on a small hill with nice views. This is within BLM land and you can camp free up to 14 days. There is a flat level parking area next to a rock fire ring. Road has soft sand and not recommended for RVs. Pickup truck/camper or Jeep’s or 4x4 vans will be fine. |
