Ok campsite. Not really special. price is a bit high compared with Kikopey Beach Camp which is 20 away.
Hot showers, swimming pool and sometimes there is WiFi.

Uganda to Kenya
1. Try to pass all the trucks until you are in front of a small gate.
2. Register your car at this gate and continue.
3. Get an Covid test at one of the three test locations. The closest one is Test and Fly. Just around the corner is another one. You can also continue to the one stop border (emigration and immigration, step 6) where there is another one.
4. Go to the Uganda customs and exit the Carnet de Passage.
5. Continue driving and pass all trucks. somewhere at the left (behind all the trucks) is a parking for normal cars. Park here and walk back to the one stop border.
6. Begin with the health check. Show your PCR and vaccinations/booster.
7. The next window is the Uganda emigration and Kenya immigration.
8. The last window is the Kenyan customs where you can stamp your Carnet de Passage in.
9 That's all and enter Kenya.

Maybe the campsite with the best view on the waterfalls. It's far away but you can see the whole big fall.
The site itself is a bit old. There is a bar close to the street which you can hear in the weekends but it's not really loud.

They asked $25 per person for a 3 hour hike to the three falls. I think that should be $25 for one guide for all hikers.
When you drive to the falls there are many "guides" and I think you can enter the fake pretty easy.

I've seen a KCB with ATM in town. Should be close to this bank. KCB does not charge a fee for cash withdrawal.

They do full Cadac bottles but they bring it somewhere else. They told me that they just bought an adapter to fill the Cadac bottles.

I think it's possible to find the real filling station.

We paid 40.000 for a 3kg CADAC bottle. I think that's maybe double the regular price.

Nice camp with a great view on the Nile. If you book your rafting tour here, you can also enjoy the large slide into the Nile and sometimes use one of their freestyle canoes.

This is indeed a very nice campsite. Friendly staff. Great viewsv on the Nile and the falls. Lots at birds.

The botanic garden on itself is not really special. It's more an park where you can relax (and party).
But there is some nice camping grounds along the lake side. After 19 o'clock everybody leaves and it's quite.
No water available.
Dirty drop toilet.
No facilities.

Paid 40.000 for two adults and two children and 20.000 for the guards.

We were the only ones camping (rooftoptents). Camping can be done next to the ablution. Really in the morning two hippo's grazing in front of our tents.
Price is USD 8. Children above the age of 5 post full price. That's everywhere in the UWA parks.

Bridge is ready and no toll (yet). The Chinese are still working on their new silk road.
Boat cruise nice but not worth the USD 30.
You can drive at night or early in the morning. No restrictions. That's why everybody wakes up at 5 in the morning.

We used the UWA boat. The boat itself was fine but USD30 is a lot for only a few animal sightings.

This hotel has its own campground in the back of their garden.

Big campground close to the city center. You can hear the city but it's just far away to get a good night. The church will start at 6 in the morning and ends at 7.
It's well decorated with many places to relax in a swing or some seating area. Hot shower available all day from a donkey.

This campsite is very close to the entrance of the park. You need to drive a while on a dirt road to get there.
For us this campsite was a bit too alternative. Yoga and hippie style things.

The ATM from the Diamond Trust Bank does not charge for withdrawals. Maximum is UGX 800.000.

Relaxed environment 20 minutes walk from city center. Nice breakfast included.
We paid USD 10 pppn for camping. Children only paid for the breakfast.

Hotel is part of an church which deploys many activities in town.
You can also camp and use the public toilets of their hotel.
Dinner buffet will cost TSH 10.000 per person.
They are extending their hotel activities to another location with lodges and a pool area.
The hotel manager is super friendly. They reopened the back gate for us to enter with our rooftoptents car. They had to remove the lower part of the gate because the newly build road was higher then the bottom of the gate.

On Friday (and probably also Saturday) many just married couples will make their photos in the garden.
The hotel is close to the entertainment area. So at Friday and Saturday it can be noisy.

They serve an "international" breakfast if you are an foreigner. This includes an egg and breads and/or chapati..
I think you can also ask for a local breakfast. That's an soup with a piece of chicken and a chapati.

Hotel just outside the city center. They have fixed prices (see photos). Two double rooms (25.000/30.000 each) are much cheaper then the big family room (100.000).

No breakfast available despite it was included according to the host.

The hotel is a bit old and things are not always working.

Toilet paper was missing in multiple rooms. Blanket was not available in another room. Almost all toilets are leaking and seats are broken.

Be careful with electronic devices. We lost two expensive USB chargers because of their faulty electricity network.

Too bad they don't fix all those small things. This could be a great hotel.

Good for a night but nothing special. Make sure the price matches what you get.

There are possibly more DTB ATMs in town. A few hundred meters is a DTB office too.

Small family room for four costs TSH 90.000, but we talked it down to 70.000.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. They installed muskitonets on both double beds.

It looks very pretty. Many banana trees and other fruit trees. Eat as much bananas as you want.

They did some renovations a few months ago and they plan to build some more lodges inside the farm. They even want to add a pool.

The free for at 16 o'clock is nice and the staff is very knowledgeable about the plants growing here.

I wasn't able to find this place.

We had a wonderful 3 day/2 night trip to South Serengeti, Serengeti and the Ngorogoro crater.
We paid USD 2100 for two adults and two children. This was full board including all park fees and camping in Serengeti and on the room of the Ngorogoro crater. We only brought personal stuff and our sleeping bags.

We contacted Leon Adventures through WhatsApp and paid using Wise.com. This is very convenient when you don't have dollars.

The company still exists but not in Karatu anymore. They are in Arusha, but I don't have an exact location.
