packetpaul Check-Ins

Cabela's

Parked to the left rear of the store with about 1/2 dozen other campers. It was quiet and had a great night sleep. Definitely one of the better locations.

Cracker Barrel

Typical CB with an extra large back parking lot. About 10 pull-thru RV spaces and lots of single spots. You can hear road noise, but not as bad as other places. We stayed among 10 other campers, and vans over this Easter weekend.

cracker barrel

Quiet night with a few big RV’s and my Promaster 136. A little hard to find at night. Turn at the Exxon and it is to the right of the Fairfield Inn.

Cracker Barrel

Quiet location. So many campers and big rigs the back parking lot was full.

Walmart

Very well lit and quiet. Multiple campers in this very large parking lot.

Walmart Staunton

Huge parking lot. Stayed in the north west corner of the lot with 5 other vans, cars, and a mini-class C. No trucks per posting.

Walmart

Surprised this Walmart is not listed. Saw 8-9 campers of all types and two semi’s. The only signs I can find say “cameras in use”.

Parked with everyone else in the corner furthest away from the entrance (to the left as you enter from the main road).

MGM Resort Casino

Oversized parking lot for the MGM Casino. I did not stay but there were clearly a dozen campers spending the night. Lots of dining and entertainment options in the casino.

Cracker Barrel

About six campers stayed last night … looked like a white van convention.

Cracker Barrel

Cracker Barrel in a complex with Walmart and Home Depot. Loud road noise as it is near the entrance ramp to 95.

Basin Campground NFS

National Forest campground. 2021 rates $20, summer use only. Closed after Columbus Day.

Cog Railway RV Parking

The Cog railway has a large parking lot for bus/rv. Multiple RV’s spending the night on this Columbus Day weekend. There is a pay station for non-Cog railway users of $10. Beautiful views of Mt. Washington and the rest of the Presidentals.

Service area

Stayed on the other side of the gas station away from the main rest area. Nobody bothered me except the trucks made noise most of the night. I recommend the main parking area for light sleepers. There are no signs indicating overnight parking is not allowed. Only “no idling” signs.
