April 30th, 2022 Maverick gas station

Asked inside if they allow overnight parking and stayed one night. The people working were super nice. We drove to the BLM nearby and just didn’t love the looks of it, if there were more people we would have been more comfy but alone in a place that is clearly a party local is not our ideal. Maverick is good for a night!

March 13th, 2022 Cracker Barrel

Not a Cracker Barrel, a Walmart neighborhood market. Security in parking lot, there is a Cracker Barrel further north that works just fine.

March 5th, 2022 Cracker Barrel RV parking

Spent about a week here, a pleasant Cracker Barrel experience. We preferred the Cracker Barrel to the Walmart, many nights we were the only people in the parking lot. Not too far from New Orleans to serve as a base for day trips into the city.

March 5th, 2022 Cracker Barrel

Called and they said they do not allow overnight parking. There is also tow signs all over the parking lot. I wouldn’t risk it. Walmart in Hurst was just fine.

March 5th, 2022 Walmart Hurst

Stayed in the parking lot behind the Panera drive thru and it was just fine. Some loud music at 1am but didn’t last long.

March 5th, 2022 Wisner Blvd Bayou Pull-offs

We stayed three nights here during Mardi Gras and had 0 problems. Beautiful spot that quiets down at night, right inside the city. Unheard of. No no parking signs that we saw. Bathroom in City Park across the street closes at sundown, so plan accordingly. People were leaving a bunch of trash when they left, please pick up your trash to keep this beautiful spot open for everyone!

February 18th, 2022 Fort Island Trail Boat Ramp

Stayed here one night no issues. Bathrooms were open all night. One other RV there with us. Only 10 minute drive to our 8am manatee tour the next morning.

February 6th, 2022 Waterside

Drove up to the spot after dark and the road was roped off. Not sure if it’s roped off all the time or not. Had to move on to different spot.

February 6th, 2022 Cracker Barrel

Great Cracker Barrel to stay at in a place with not many more options. Many RVs/vans here, safe, restaurant closes at 10.

January 8th, 2022 Pflugerville Walmart

Stayed a night here over by the employee parking lot. We stayed at both the Round Rock and South Austin Walmart and this Pflugerville one was our personal favorite. Quieter and more secluded. Closes at 11.

January 8th, 2022 Walmart

Not our personal favorite Walmart we’ve ever stayed in, lots of commotion all through the night, but good for one night stay.

November 22nd, 2021 Cracker Barrel

Stayed here for 4 nights no problem. Rolled in at 10:30pm tonight to sleep and they were busily towing cars. Got out of there real quick.

November 16th, 2021 Bass Pro/Cabelas

A Bass Pro/ Cabela’s combo. Plenty of parking, other RV’s and semis there the night we stayed. Store opens and closes at 9. Bass Pro is always our first choice and this one didn’t disappoint.

October 29th, 2021 Kittery trading post

Stayed here for 3 nights. Lot under construction but part of it still open and no one bothered us. Few other vehicles there over night. Store doesn’t open until 9am.

October 29th, 2021 Walmart Plaza

No overnight parking signs. Lot is very small and shared with two other stores. Very busy and lots of people hanging around late at night. It’s not the safest we’ve ever felt, so we went to the Danvers Walmart instead and that worked out fine. Save yourself a trip and go to Danvers first.

October 29th, 2021 Lowes

Stayed here one night. On the right side of parking lot lots of box trucks parked, probably Lowes trucks but didn’t see any truckers or other iOverlanders using the lot. People hanging around till midnight or so but then pretty quiet.

October 18th, 2021 Bug Light Park

We stayed here for 5 days. Beautiful views, multiple vans staying over night, but it’s definitely not quiet. Seems to be a place for teenagers to come hang out in the middle of night. Got woken up every night by something going on in the parking lot. Also gets VERY busy in the morning. Would suggest leaving early. The locals are definitely catching on and don’t seem thrilled about it.

June 26th, 2021 Road Pull Off

Pulled up in the rain and decided it looked a little sketch for our AWD Ford Escape to get up and be able to get out of in the morning. Pull off also right in front of a private residence and before the entering National forest sign so unsure if it is truly a forest service road?

June 15th, 2021 CDOT Rest Area: Poudre

Stayed here for 5 nights. One night in the car area (posted 2 1/2 hour parking but many cars stayed there all night). The other nights in the RV/truck area, posted 12 hour parking. Never felt unsafe, always arrived late and left early, but nice to be near the bathrooms and Colorado Welcome Center.
