April 30th, 2022 | Walmart Marina | Spent the night here, was nice and quiet BUT woke up to a $105 ticket from the police for parking overnight in a private lot. There is a small sign that says no overnight parking only at the entrance into the lot, not very visible. |
April 30th, 2022 | Mission Peak Trailhead | Potable water. Two spigots and a water fountain to fill your canteens or Jerry cans. No attachment for hose. Spigots are just behind the bathroom at the trailhead. Nice hike up the hill too, beautiful hills and views from the top. Cows grazing. Dog friendly. |
April 30th, 2022 | Fremont park | Very nice park, had a peaceful quiet night there even on a Friday night. Were not disturbed. A few other vans and a big RV slept there too. We parked in the first parking lot on Sailway Dr northwest of this gps marker. Would sleep here again. |
April 28th, 2022 | Tommy's | Tommy’s permanently closed in March 2021 🙁 now some Chinese restaurant, did not try it. |
April 25th, 2022 | Walmart | Lots of RVs and vans in the parking lot. Seems like a good place to spend overnight. |

April 18th, 2022 | Quiet secluded flat space | Just off of a quiet road, turn onto the dirt road and then the spot is immediately to your right. Pretty level. Close to the road but it is well hidden by trees. Not much traffic at all. Great sleep in the woods. Clean space.

April 16th, 2022 | BLM outside JT Park Pinkham Trail | Nice spot, hidden from the highway by a big levee of dirt, can’t hear it much either. We came from the Pinkham trail and camped here on our way out of the park. The trail is actually not bad at all, only one little spot with a few rocks to clear. Other than that all nice dirt trail. |
April 4th, 2022 | Off the road | Nice little pullout 50’ from the road. Decent views of the mountains all around. Flat. Couldn’t find much else in this stretch of road to camp at. It is over 22 miles from the main road (where the sign said no camping for 22 miles) |
March 19th, 2022 | Fremont River veterinary | Very nice service and vet. Got us in for an emergency visit even though they were quite busy already. Our dog was wobbling and very lethargic, we were worried about rattlesnake or scorpion bite. Very nice people. Blood work, check up, and a shot of steroids to help with any allergic reaction and inflammation came to $186 usd. |
March 19th, 2022 | Wild Rabbit Cafe | Amazing restaurant with all day breakfast. Everything is super good and fresh, pastries baked the same day, nice veggie options. Great local coffee.
March 13th, 2022 | Rotary Rock | Insane spot to camp. One of the most beautiful campsites we’ve ever been to. Bring some firewood. Amazing views.
March 8th, 2022 | Wild camping 4x4 | A few nice camp spots with good views, fire pits. Further down the forest road from the busy area with vans. The road gets tougher, high clearance needed, probably 4x4 too. No problem for a land cruiser but bigger rigs beware. Very peaceful and pretty. |
March 8th, 2022 | Tonto National Forest | A few spots in this area to camp. Quiet and dark. We took the off road trail up the hill to the right. 4x4 high clearance only. Found a spot to camp just a bit further down the trail. Windy but nice. |
March 4th, 2022 | Sunburst Veterinary | Not taking any new clients currently, all vets are super busy due to Covid it seems |
March 4th, 2022 | Bishop Creek | A few dispersed camp sites by a dried up creek. Private and secluded. Soft ground. Fire pits. |
March 3rd, 2022 | Buckeye remote spot | Keep driving down the main dirt road at Buckeye. Lots of campers everywhere. We kept driving and then eventually turned left onto a side trail to this beautiful hidden tucked away spot. Mountain views. Shelter from wind in trees.
March 2nd, 2022 | Cochise final spot | The main camp areas at Cochise were super busy. We took a little dirt road right after the gate entering the park up the hill. Rougher road so fewer people up here. A few small sites along the road up. At the end there is a beautiful and more or less secluded spot at the base of the cliffs overlooking the whole valley below.

March 1st, 2022 | Bearfoot spring camping/picnic | A few dispersed camp sites and picnic table areas. Nice little drive. Very quiet. Be mindful of bears |
February 25th, 2022 | Ziggy's Roadside BBQ | Definitely worth stopping by if you are in the area. We loved the brisket and turkey, flavorful and moist. Fried pickles really good. Nice bbq sauce too, sweet and tangy and a bit spicy.
February 24th, 2022 | Immigration services | Quiet and easy on a Thursday evening. Open 24hrs. Pull in to the drive through Banjercito booth first to cancel your TIP, then into the main building to give in your FMM and get passport stamped |
February 22nd, 2022 | Parking Dr Velazco | Good secure parking near Roma Norte neighborhood. Really hard to find a good place to park in this area for a few nights, always check google reviews as many have reported thefts at other nearby lots.
February 21st, 2022 | Paraje y camping San Efrén | Nice owner, paid 100 pesos per person. Beautiful spot right on the river. She can rent you kayaks too. Definitely not big rig friendly, tight fit through their gate but no height restrictions. Clean nice bathrooms and has showers too (cold only I think). Quiet peaceful night. |
February 21st, 2022 | Agriculture Checkpoint | No one there on a Monday afternoon. Drove right through. |
February 16th, 2022 | El Meson | Nice tucked away patio for some pub fare. Best wings we’ve had in Mexico, would recommend the red hot (like buffalo) and bbq. Ask for them a bit more well cooked if you want crispy. Good potato wedges. Great service. Good prices. |
February 16th, 2022 | Hospital veterinario | Nice little pet shop and veterinarian. Our dog needed a rabies booster shot, very nice vet, quick service, got the rabies shot for just 150 pesos good for a year. |
February 14th, 2022 | Dog Park - Parque Pushkin | Small dog park to let your pooch run and play with other dogs. Local let their dogs off in the open area of the park too. |
February 12th, 2022 | Rancho Taxco | Very nice spot. Paid 250 pesos for 2 people for 1 night. Easy to walk to the Center. Narrow tight streets to get up, wouldn’t recommend for any larger sized rigs. Nice owners. The gates were locked when we returned around 11pm on a Saturday so we had to hop the stone wall to get back in. |
February 12th, 2022 | Yolotl Brewery/Biergarten | Very nice local micro brewery with a big patio, super friendly owner. Beers from 70-90 pesos. Pet friendly. Currently have an Amber, Oatmeal Stout, and Blonde. Out of the IPA right now. Brewed here in Taxco and all of the beers are actually really good! One of the better micro breweries we’ve been to in Mexico. Live music today on a Saturday night. Chill vibes. |
