October 1st, 2015 Salto Yuruani

Free place to stay on both sides of the river near the waterfall. Perfect place to chill and bath in the river. Note however that during the rain season many "jejennes" or little biting flies favor this locating as well. High clearance vehicle strongly recommend. South side of the river needs 4x4 to get to the camp. But has toilets and more shaded straw thatched huts.

This is a quiet little sandy spot with crystal clear water. Tropical colored fish right in front of it near the rock outcrop. Fisherman use this spot to reel in the nets. Sandra and Cubano live above it and you need to ask permission to camp. They'll show you the hidden water tap. Warmest greetings from us: Karin-Marijke and Coen.

From Kavanayén it's only 20kms or so, but can take you a few hours.

Swiss owner Bruno has built a strange camp on the river bank. Stayed here 2 times and all the time prices fluctuated. First time we paid 600 Bolivares per person.
