November 25th, 2017 Camping Fogata

The owner of Fogatas just texted me to aks me if I could write a comment in iOverlander that camping fogatas is about to be closed down. So sad...
She could not tell me when they would close the campground but I'm guessing soon.

March 10th, 2017 Km 4, El sabor de los lagos

Found this Restaurant right next to the street on our way to Panguipulli. They serve good almuerzos with salad and bread for 3000 pesos. Yummy jugos naturales (2000 pesos) and a very homely atmosphere with wood stove and sofa. They also serve cakes which look lovely. Didn't try them though...
Nothing vegetarian on the menu.

March 9th, 2017 NATURAL thermas ralun; FREE

Fun trip to this small place next to the river. Bring your own shovel since the pools can be very shallow. But if you are allergic to bees: Don't come here! The whole beach was full of bees...
No one came to collect money for parking, so payed only 2500 pp for the boat.

January 24th, 2017 Camping El Roble

Small but nice campground with grassy places to put up your tent or park your vehicle. Hot showers twice a day (1 hour in the morning, one in the evening) and clean toilets available.
It's a nice alternative to the overcrowded campgrounds in Pucón itself and much cheaper with 4500 pesos per person. You can do laundry here for 2000 pesos per load (7kg) There's a small kiosk that also serves food and Lider or Unimarq are within walking distance (5mins). To Pucón center it's about a 10-15min walk.
We enjoyed are time here!

January 17th, 2017 Akeyan

Place is still here and still running. We payed 15.000 pesos per night. Bathrooms are clean, showers have warm water and there is a pool plus a restaurant with meals around 6000-8000 pesos. Neat place!

November 30th, 2016 Camping Refugio Del Angel

This campground is simply beautiful with all its willow trees and the many very private places where you can pitch your tent or park your car, moto or bicycle.
+ hot water shower with solar energy or gas included in the price.
+ a small river flows through the campground and you can cool off in the hot afternoon sun
+ there's a lot of shade
+ toilets and showers are cleaned every day, sometimes even twice a day and also the rest of the area is held clean
- many mosquitos in the evening and night
- electricity is only available in the bathroom (2 docks per bathroom)
- maximum VW Sprinter will fit in (I would say..)

Price: 8000 Pesos per person if you stay one night, two nights or more it's 7000 pesos per person. No extra cost for motorhome.
Even though expensive we can really recommend this place because it's very relaxed and quiet and clean.

October 24th, 2016 Camping Ma-Ri

Camping area for tents in the grass, as well for big rigs (gate without roof) between trees. There are places to have your Barbecue and the pool is very refreshing. Facilities are clean and showers have warm water. We payed 100 Pesos per person.

October 11th, 2016 Pousada Portal Paraiso

Camping underneath trees on a field for cows. Unfortunately the bathrooms were dirty (frogs underneath toilet seats, no toilet paper, brown toilet bowls) and there is a kitchen you could use if there was gas (gas was empty when we were there) and if not everything was full of bird poo. The pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. We felt ripped off paying 35real per Person...

October 9th, 2016 Hotel Casa Suiza

All the information below is still correct. Christa (your host) is very nice and they just sold part of their property to another Swiss who can accomodate a few (maybe 2-3) rigs in his yard. We payed 40 per Person for the room and 20 for breakfast and another 20 to the new neighbour for letting us park our car in his yard.

October 5th, 2016 Police Station/Toll

Yep, they tried to sell us some funny paper. We just acted as if we did not understand even when the police man told us he was thirsty... Did not have to pay anything but had to show all our papers since they thought we were Chilenan like our car!

August 21st, 2016 Casa Hospedaje Cucha Cuella

Payed S30 for matrimonial with private bathroom. Good place to spend a night.

August 19th, 2016 Hospedaje el gallitos de las roccas

Small grassy campig area, partly levelled. Amazing view of Gocta waterfall and very nice owners. We payed 5S to camp in our car. Clean bathroom with cold shower.

August 17th, 2016 PORTA VERDE

Nice camping, perfect for before/after border crossing. It is NOT closed because it has a new owner. Bathrooms are a bit far away and there is no shower but the owner is planning to install bathrooms with showers nearby. Refreshing pool is available, as are shopping possibilities. Payed 10S per person. If the gate outside is closed: Ring the bell!

August 11th, 2016 Villa San Marcos

Prices are still the same, 40 USD for double with private bathroom. The parqueadero belongs to the hotel and is included in the price and fits approx. 15 vehicles. Not for big rigs because the entrance is pretty narrow. Breakfast is also included in price, there's warm water and good internet. The hotel also offers laundry service. The staff is very helpful.

August 9th, 2016 Mirador Ojos del Volcán

Camped on a well levelled grassy area above the restaurant with amazing views of tungurahua and chimborazo in the evenings. There's a bathroom with hot water showers to use and the owner and his wife (good cook) are super nice. Price is still $5 pp. They have two very small and very cute rescue puppies that live with the chicken and will love to play with your shoelaces!

August 4th, 2016 Jardin Suizo - Hosteria & Camping

The owner (Sämi) is back at jardin suizo. We had a very nice stay there! He showed us around and made us coffee and sandwiches for our long car ride the next day! Toilets are clean, showers cold though Sämi is thinking of installing a water heater. Payed $5 pp.

July 30th, 2016 Hosteria Salango, Islamar

We liked this place a lot. Very clean bathroom, free tinto, next to the museum and quiet at night.

June 26th, 2016 Altamira

Camping with fantastic view over Ibague. We paid 15'000 pp. Maybe crowded at the weekends. They have a special house for events like weddings. No private showers, only the one next to the pool. There is also a fridge you can use.

Very nice campground right at the río fonce. The staff is incredibly friendly and we enjoyed our stay very much. Bathrooms are clean and have cold water showers. Fogatas also has a restaurant with good food at reasonable prices. $10k COP per person/night. Ask to play "Tejo" it's a fun game and the staff will show you how to play!

May 30th, 2016 Hotel Luz Mery

We stayed here for one night on the way from Minca to San Gil. It has basic rooms with fan/ac for $50k per night. Secure parking, decent WiFi and good Restaurant across the street.
