September 15th, 2015 Congos Hostel & Camping, Playa Hermosa

nice large gully equiped campsite. 4000 colones pero personas, no charge for the rv in low season

September 9th, 2015 Lys Hostel Parking Lot

most large vehicles can park on the sandy driveway next to the hostel if power needed. Otherwise largest vehicles can park a few meters away next to the road.

September 7th, 2015 La Colina Lodge

large flat grassy area, most vehicles will fit. 8USD per person per night (but they asked for 10 to another non Spanish speaking couple) and 7 USD per electricity (we did not use it). Bad internet if at all and low pressure hot water showers. Great location for visiting Monteverde, although far away from everything else

September 4th, 2015 Place with a blue VW campervan next to road

Hostel with large parking, level and with plenty of shade. High vehicles (more than 3m may find trouble because of hanging electricity cords. Location approximate, from memory, opposite the only roadside super market. 15USD with internet, decent toilet and poor kitchen. They claimed to have drinking water, but we did not use it.

September 4th, 2015 Villas Tita Surf Camping And Parqueo

the owners have two different places where you can stay with your vehicle. This location is for the one with no amenities whatsoever, 5000 colones per person, just parking. another site for overlanders behind the villas with kamp showers and toilets, 10000 per person. A total robbery. We ended up in the parking lot at the other side of the main road about 200m south. 15usd total with decent toilet and internet, not so good kitchen.

September 2nd, 2015 Camping Adonis

Great place, big grassy area with showers and toilets. Adonis is a great guy and we really enjoyed our time in Puerto Jimenez. How come no one mentioned the animal diversity on the campsite itself? Iguanas, basiliscos, macaws, ibis and... crocodiles and caimans that Adonis will show for free to campers. Seriously, that was incredible. Bring mosquito repellent though.

August 22nd, 2015 Pacific Dreams

Hotel with possibility to stay in your RV (see below)

40 USD for a double room with two ling beds with private bathroom (there are smaller ones with shared bathroom too) including breakfast which changes daily (omelet, egg o toast, pancake...). It is in a quiet residential street 5 minute walk to El Dorado Mall and plenty of restaurants (most of them fast food). Taxi to the center is $5.

one of the hotel wings can be rented as a whole mini apartment or private rooms with shared bathroom. If the later you can park your motorhome in front of the hotel and make use of the bathroom and kitchen and have a wonderful breakfast for $5 per person per night, but you need to call the owner in advance to make sure the bathroom is available and there is space to park (they speak English) +5073903241

Laundry service is $5 for a massive load

July 25th, 2015 Tayrona Dive Center

We stayed here twice for over 10 days in total. You can park a large motorhome or multiple small ones opposite the dive resort out of the view from the road. They gave us the key to a room with private toilet for 20-30k pesos (can't remember, sorry). It has a large common area were we could work from. There's a very nice breeze in the evening, but it can get really windy at night and lots of sand get into your vehicle if you leave the windows opened. No mosquito's whatsoever.

Great place if you find Cartagena too hot and humid.

The diving here is great, good price and great instructors.

Don't forget to check out the restaurant upstairs, great international food (we all had curry) and great views.

July 22nd, 2015 Camping Casa del Mar

Nice, quiet place (in low season) at the end of Tolu, next to the beach. There are two camp sites next to each other, this is the second one. It was slightly more expensive than the first but showers with running water, the first one you had to shower by pouring water from a tank with a small bowl. I wouldn't even ask on the first one, we did and during the night they were insulting and harassing us over the fence for not choosing them.

July 18th, 2015 The Blacksheep Hostal

Nice hostel in a nice Medellin neighbourhood. There is no gated parking, but it is in a quiet residential street where it was easy to park our big rig.

July 16th, 2015 Hacienda Guayabal - Chinchina

A really nice place to spend a couple of days and for us an absolute must in Colombia.

Lovely hacienda with loads of space, great coffee and friendly staff. The tour around me hacienda was really interesting and enjoyable and the coffe great.

July 14th, 2015 camping and RV park Monteroca

Great place with los of space and everything you need

June 25th, 2015 Bosque Protector Cerro Blanco, Guayaquil

$5 per vehicle and $4 per person

March 2nd, 2015 Camping Alberto and Felicidad

This place is open again.

We came to Sucre and although we saw everywhere that the place had closed Arantxa had a hunch and decided to give it a go. We got there and it seemed to be closed, but then headed to Aniceto Arce 416 (just around the corner) where the owners live and they told us that they were just reopening after a year or so.

The owners told us to let people know that if they came and the place looked close, head to their house in Aniceto Arce 416 to ask and someone will most likely be there.

February 23rd, 2015 Tupiza Train Station Parking Area

We stayed here for a couple of nights. Hotel La Torre seemed not to have space for our motorhome and police recommended us this spot. They told us the town was quite and safe so it was good enough for us. It's close to the center, free and there's plenty of space for any rig.

No amenities. However, there's local street food served every night in the parking area.

The train station has toilets for 1 boliviano, although they do not open everyday (we couldn't figure out the pattern). For showers we went to a nearby YHI (the second one down the road) at 15 bolivianos each hot shower.

February 21st, 2015 Residencial Panamericano

Location is not exact (just from memory). ask locals for directions. This is a well known place on the town.

The Residencial Panamericano is a hotel with parking lot where overlanders are welcome to park and stay on their vehicle for the night (10 bolivianos). Rooms are 15 bolivianos.

We arrived here after asking if we could park on the area next to Villazon's YPFB petrol station but they told us to leave and called the police. The police disrecommended us to park on the area for the night, given the amount of drunken people (this was during carnival, it may be different on different dates).

There were showers but not great.

The entrance is narrow and the street not really wide, but after a couple of tries we managed to park our 7.3mx2.35m motorhome.

Not many ammenities, but there are toilets and drinking water.

February 19th, 2015 Camping El Refugio

Just passed Yala, bear right and cross the bridge. The camping is on the right.

Big sites for big rigs. Fast internet. Swimming pool. Toilets and showers not great.
