The people who use this app are the overlanders, right... we’re used to border crossings and this border can be busy, but use the knowledge from previous border crossings and you’ll be fine!

Mozambique site: Yes, there are a lot of guys around you at the moment you step out of the car. If you don’t want them to help you, just say it once and ignore them.
Get your passport stamped, fill in the T.I.P. If you don’t use a Carnet (stay strict at this moment, because this is where the guys want to help you. And want money after helping you to fill in the form.) And get a stamp on this little form, they give it to you between the two borders. This is your exit pass.

Go to one of the offices next to the road to get your 3th party insurance. We paid this time in Rand, was much cheaper. The rates are hanging inside the office.

When we arrived there where a LOT of retired, long term people. Only a view spots left at the back of the camp.
We wanted to do the shark cage dive in Mossel bay, and this was the only camp to stay on.
But when you stay here, you see it isn't so bad at all. The people are very friendly, are interested in your way of traveling, the nights are quiet because the go to bed early. You can also do a nice walk to the lighthouse, by dawn we saw a lot of klipdassies and dolphins.

Still like said before. A nice place to spend a night before entering the baviaanskloof. 50 Rand pppn and you arrange your ticket and camp for inside the baviaanskloof here.
The view was pretty nice, only downside are the passing cars behind the camp.

Rooihoek is also an official campsite (next to Doodsklip) in the Baviaanskloof. 6 places, but you don't see each other. Bush camp feeling with only some shared long drop toilets and a braai stand on every site.
Beneath the red cliff, where the campsite name is coming from, we saw some people swimming.
45 Rand pppn this is included entry fee.

We loved to stay here for a night. The owners are very friendly, and they have information/brochures about the Baviaanskloof. The place where you camp is where there grand,grandparents lived. The new house is up the hill where you enter. Ask for the hiking trail to the waterfall, it's a well signed route for +- 3 km in total. But watch out for snakes, we saw a boomslang.

Not many reviews for this campsite, so it's time for a new one. We didn't liked this place...
It's still a grassy compound, all numbered and surrounded with red/white tape (looks not nice).
You get a key for the ablution block, after giving a deposit of 500 MTZ. They clean it every day, but the water you can not use it. It's so rusty, if you take a shower here you will turn orange.
The people who are staying here use the shower from the dive shop next door. Also the beachboys use this compound to enter the beach. So even on your camp the try to sell you stuff.
The prices are still the same like said before. You really pay to much.

Good for one night stopover. We thought this place is a little bit rundown.
The water from the taps in the ablutions can give black water.
There are 3 big friendly dogs, using the area as toilet. So watch out for dog poop.
500 MTZ pppn

We stayed 2 weeks at Fatimas, because we loved Tofo.
The campsite is not much, (we never had hot showers) but the fibe is good! You will meet lots of other travelers and spend the most of your time around the beach.
The staff is friendly.
They ask 600 MZT pppn, when you stay 4 night or longer the price is 300 MZT pppn.

I have changed the coordinates to the place where the factory is!
It's a nice place, don't forget to take a look at the balcony into the factory. You can see the guys working. They are making great things.
There is also a coffeehouse.

You can use your wildcard now here! So you only pay for camping, R125 pppn.
We started the Hippo trail for hiking, but went back because there were a lot of ticks in de high grass this time of the year. We made a walk on the wider car routes what also was beautiful.

A smaller camp, the ablutions are a little bit old with only one shower at the woman side...

Here also hyenas around the camp during the evening. And a pack of lions and rhinos around this area we could see every drive.

We did the same, drove from north to south in February with no reservations. But this year it was very quiet and there was plenty of space also in Lower Sabie.
For us the most expensive camp in Kruger R 333,30 for two people p night.
The view from the restaurant is beautiful. The camp is situated in the middle of a good game drive area which make it worth to visit. The camp itself is not the nicest with the small spots.

(We also did a night drive from out here, R242,40 pp. You're going in a bigger truck for 20 people I think. 3 people getting a big torch to help the driver with shining and everyone helps to find the shimmering eyes. So you can also bring your one torch and don't forget you camera flash! We had a wonderful leopard hunt.)

For us the largest camp we stayed on in Kruger. But this time of the year very quiet and not bad.
Paid R242,40 for 2 people p night, the cheapest camp in Kruger for us.
We had lions every drive around here.

We checked in at Olifants for 2 nights. Paid R287,85 for 2 people p night.
Really have the feeling your sleeping in the park with the sound of lions and off course the hyenas around the camp. We liked the environment around Olifants river. But this area was still very dry, so not much big game around.

We spend a week in Kruger NP and drove from north (Phalaborwa Gate) to the south. We had no reservations for any camp, but it was very quiet this time of the year.
Tsendze is a very nice smaller camp. We think the most beautiful of al the camps we've seen in the Kruger. We paid R 287,85 for two people p night.
We had a lot of elephants around but with the thick mopani it was difficult to spot other animals.

We loved our stay here! We arrived for the weekend, but there was a large group on the camp. So we get upgraded to a chalet. For the same price as camping (295 R for two people)
The owner helped us with a good garage for our car to do some maintenance. After Namibia all our bushings where gone...
This garage did a good job repairing it! (We placed him on I-Overlander, TMN Auto garage)
So we stayed 6 nights on this peaceful green place with the sound of hippos.

Tienie is a honest, good mechanic.
We brought our Landcruiser for maintenance. The bushings were all gone after 10 months off driving through Africa.
He did a good job repairing it and much cheaper than the Toyota dealer.

They ask now 20 Rand pp! 😱
But for us this was also the most beautiful waterfall.
Most of the other waterfalls they ask 10 Rand pp.

We stayed for 150 Rand per night for two people. (No electricity)
With electricity, weekend and high season is more expensive but now it was quiet.
The smaller ablution blocks are old, the bigger block in the middle is better and the showers were hot.

If you stay on the campsite you get discount for the park entree.
With the discount it was 130 Rand for 2 people and the car per day. (You can not use your wildcard here)
They have a lot of animals in this 'small' park, so good game driving.

Everything like said before, but the price is now 308,05 Rand for two people per night.
And keep in mind, if your coming from the Botswana side and stay here for one night, you pay the South Africa park fee also. Or you can use/buy the wildcard.

On the route from the Mabuasehube gate to Nossob camp this is a nice stop when your not in a hurry.
30 Pula pppn
Feels like a wild camp with Longdrop toilet.

Mpaaya camp is now private owned by the Inter Tourism Group. We payed 360 Pula for two persons, this is ex. park fee.
But it was more than worth it, because we had lions through our camp. It was amazing!!
They are attracted by the water underneath the tap.
So watch your back 😉

Good place to take some rest. They started the price with 140 pula pppn, but you can negotiate.
We had dinner and it was good and tasty. The staff is very friendly.
The wildebeest around the camp and reception is grown up here and raised by bottle.
The water from the tap is salty, we filled our jerrycans at the Engen station in Kang.
(Only the pitches further from the ablutions have their own water tap.)

Around this pan there are 4 pitches. We stayed at number 2, here you have a nice view over the pan. And a tree for shade.

Every spot has it's own longdrop toilet and bucket shower. (you need to fill with your own water)

It's worth to take the northern loop from Khutse gate to here. You're passing al the waterholes. So more chance to see animals.
You can also do a nice game drive around the Moreswe pan with have it's one waterhole.
