First Initial overnight in the Trailer- Mika

Absolutely paradise at this small Bay. Very small campground right by the water. Several terrasses with shade from the kiwi trees, that are perfect for tents. Shade for motorcycles. A few small restaurants but very quiet bay. Be careful with the sea urgins, they sting. Also I didn't find the road down very steep as mentioned here. Max 10%.

The caretakers were a bit greedy and asked for 15 Euro for a tent, which is 5 more than the next campground. On top of that, they didn't really want to give me a site, but wanted me to put my tent up right in front of the toilets. When I understood that I packed my things and took the camping less than 500 meters where I paid 10 Euro and got a full normal site right by the sea.

Not the best neighborhood, but the lot is big enough to turn around our 31' rig with a toad. Should be a fairly quiet location.

many big and small spots along a gravel road, enough space for several cars/tents, right next to a lake

beautiful beach with lots of space for 10 tents, fireplaces, pit toilet, picnic tables available. also perfect for fishing. not allowed for campervans. Bring fresh water. well known for locals, it can get busy. perfect for kids

also has water spigot. Picnic area at the lake at this site. No overnight camping. Vault toilets.

Lovely location by the lake. We are keen birdwatchers and I've never seen so many different species of birds in one place!
Toilet and shower in one of the rooms was very good and had hot water. Poor Vodacom signal. Not sure why but soooo many bugs around at night. Not a private campsite as locals use the place as access to the lake. Camping we paid Tsh15,000.

Nothing special. Little forest road. I ventured a little farther up looking for a flat spot. There was a nice flat spot farther up. All the tributary roads are private property. I didn’t go down the other side to see what’s out there. But the road is wide enough to three point turn a 22’ rig in most places. Frequent offshoots to turn around. So far, haven’t seen a soul and the road looks like it isn’t used often.

As per others experience. Nice parking spot but it’s visible… so might be prone to visitors and unwanted authorities.
I’m going to move on and look for somewhere else to camp.
Good emergency backup spot though!

Free, public camping along the Reservoir. The upper lot is a large gravel area with picnic tables spread out, then there are other parking areas that allow tent camping. There is a vault toilet and a strong Verizon signal at the top/main parking area. A few other overnighters, but quiet overall.

Fantastic spot to stay overnight. Nice breeze off the river.

A learning place NGO operated by a ministry that will allow small group or single party to camp on a largish concrete pad with large Avila toon block and a view to the ocean outside of Haut Bay about 15 mins from down town Cape Town.

Great spot off a forest road in the Suislaw. Not much traffic, some quads driving by. Space for a few cars and a few tents. Small fire pit. No service but about 10 minutes from it.

Great sized pullout off Squaw road, can fit a few cars and tents, good for groups. No WiFi. Private location.

5 day max . Clean pit toilets . Lots of flies and mosquitoes . Pulled in . stayed two nites. Very popular place to camp. Have a backup plan. Check map at pit toilet, there are a dozen others spots to camp for free along the north plate River

Gates are still locked. by just drove by again at 7: 40am on August 6th

Lots of sites available but heavily used. Standing water in the meadows so mosquitos are bad at dusk, but a good place to overnight. Trailers or large vehicles are limited to beginning if road due to ruts & mud as you climb up, but we had no problem in Subaru
Crosstrek

Very quiet nice little spot, reachable within 20 min from the main highway E4. at night you can still hear it very faintly not absolutely not a problem. the space is big enough that we could fit a car, two tents and a bike easily and still have enough room to probably park another car.

Safe. Flat 72 hour lot for vans up to 25ft. Perfect for overnight. Lot has portable water station. Relatively quiet, some train activity. End of lot walk-through tunnel to harbor: restaurants and public restrooms. Great coffee spot as well!

Hwy noise a bit, ledge is crumbling into the mighty copper river so maybe park back from edge a bit. Spot I parked at in 2018 has been cast into the abyss.. prolly won’t catastrophically dump you and your rig on an eve. Locals brap around all hrs. If you’re lucky kids will shoot off bedside fireworks lmao
