Lugar tranquilo e seguro na entrada da cidade. Apesar de ser ao lado de uma pista, não faz muito barulho.

We parked in front of the campsite in the space indicated on Google Maps. A scooter goalkeeper arrived and asked us 20.000pp the entrance + 35,000 for our van. Thanks to the other comment I said that I did not agree with the price. He told me to go to the entrance or I was going to paid more expensive because he wanted to make a discount for the van and pay 15,000. I said no so I left at the entrance 2km further. Very nice men were there, and after talking a little with them they made me paid 10.000pp the entrance and 15,000 for the van because the price of 35,000 is for minibuses and we have a van no a minibus that's what I am explained to them. They give the excuse of COVID for price increases, negotiating with a smile always works;) and for information the park closed has 4 p.m, Enjoy!

At the edge of the mountain, a flat and quiet place in the middle of nature without much passage. A nice place to go to sleep and waking up against a mountain!

Au bord de la montagne, un endroit plat et tranquille au milieu de la nature sans trop de passage. Un bel endroit où faire un stop pour dormir et ce réveiller face à une montagne !

Great for one night. We had a couple neighbours but fairly quiet overall. A few cars pulled in in the morning to walk their dog/hike nearby.

José is quite nice and let us stay with our van in front the hostel. Wifi, power, shower, kitchen, well everything you need. it's on the road so not very intimate though, but very quiet. a lot of birds in the morning.
It was 9000 colones for 2 people if using the kitchen (which we did because it was quite cold and humid) and less if you don't need it. He gives good advice and free coffee.

I recommend driving further down the road to more private sites that are a bit off the main road. The road is well maintained and a good drive. About two miles down you'll see a footbridge over the creek - turn in on the left after you see it and you'll find a great private trailhead and an even better tent spot across the river.

We stayed here for 5 days. Beautiful views, multiple vans staying over night, but it’s definitely not quiet. Seems to be a place for teenagers to come hang out in the middle of night. Got woken up every night by something going on in the parking lot. Also gets VERY busy in the morning. Would suggest leaving early. The locals are definitely catching on and don’t seem thrilled about it.

If you decide to night-drive you will need to pay $20USD for the vehicle (this is not part of what you pay to Standwell). Park fees are also over and above his fee ($20USD pp SADC).

This works out cheaper than drives with some of the surrounding camps/lodges and you’re supporting the local community.

Have a great safari.

They are closed for the season but when I phoned Sheila said I could use the sani dump and fresh potable water for $5. Not the most convenient set up but it was very appreciated since every other campsite we tried was closed for the season and no sani dump available.
I would live to come back for a boat tour in season!
Sheila was super nice as well.

As described by others. Wifi doesn't cover some of the campsite but is fine at the boma and office. No braais (BBQs) at the sites. Chris the manager very helpful. We were given a 60s+ discount and paid R270 pn for two.

Nice place in the dunes. There are a few camp sites in the same close to the beach. other campsites with grass are further from the beach. They were not in use when we were there. I think there are also the lodges.
We were the only visitors at the camping site. So we stayed at the sandy camp spots close to the beach.

To reach the site you have to cross the sugar cane plantage. It just rained so the road was one long but mud road. Don't do this without 4x4. It was exciting to drive. our car was completely covered by mid. The owner let his staff clean or car.
We are not sure if there is free wifi.

incredible beach side location with camping on the grass above. free kayaks that were practically new and perfect for a sunset trip on the calm waters. good ablutions and borehole water available. pool available although was a bit dirty when we were there. very welcoming couple who run the place who went out of their way to help some other guests who had an accident on their way home.

Stayed one night here before driving to the Grand Canyon. Most of the other parking lots in town have "no overnight parking" signs posted, this lot does not have those signs. Really close to bars and restaurants.
