An Unknown Adventure | I wouldn't recommend it here for anything more than to park and fill water (you can dump too) for $10 for the entire day. It's right on the beach and while dogs aren't allowed on this particular beach, the path where they are allowed is miles long and gorgeous. However, you have to pick your campsite before you enter and you're not allowed to change it unless you want to cancel and repay the expensive $35-$50 again. I ended up directly across from a huge group of 10-12 people who are screaming, smoking cigarettes, pouring gallons of lighter fluid on the bbq (I'm not exaggerating, I watched him pour a gallon on & it was the second time), and blasting country music. My entire van (hell, this half of the campsite) stinks of lighter fluid, smoke and cigarettes. I went up front to talk to the people working here and there's nothing they can do. I'm no campsite expert but in the several I've stayed at before, I've never had this issue. The spaces here are much too close!! And the people seem quite inconsiderate. 🥵 |

bkim31 | Nice new and modern facilities. Very clean (there is actually someone cleaning right now)! Large parking lot so I was able to park my van a bit away from the larger and louder đźš›. Area for dogs outside. There is some noise from other users and a train track that runs next to the parking lot but overall I like it for one night. Very convenient with 30-cents-cheaper-than-other-places gas nearby. |

The site offers a beautiful view, clean toilets and showers with hot water and a very nice fireplaces with free wood. Chelinda is the only campsite in Nyika National Park, wild camping is prohibited. Cost for camping USD 20 pp plus entrance fees for Nationalpark to pay at the gate. Several bridges on the plateau are under construction and not passable at the moment, they will be ready for Christmas |

MilesVanJones | This place is amazing! the views, the food (the best seafood chowder), parked up next to the lighthouse! oh the sunset too. nice big gravel parking lot at this restaurant, it's low season so I asked the manager if we could park overnight and she didn't even hesitate to say yes. We then ordered food and loved the fish cakes and swooned over the Chowder. Later we chatted with the manager and she is so lovely. Even if you don't or can't stay the night, it's must stop for all of the above! enjoy. * TENTS: there is a big grassy area but I'm unsure if they would allow tents... doesn't hurt to ask. |
