Arrived here on a Sunday afternoon, a few local families here, they left before 5 and then we had the place to ourselves. Only a couple people came on Monday. Good Phone service. We picked up a lot of trash ! The place is now looking good / for how long who knows! worth the stop , previous description is accurate the road noise not an issue as the sound of the sea muffles it out.

Great spot! Nearly perfect Verizon reception. It's just gravel pull off of the road, but there is barely any traffic on this road. May need leveling blocks (we did).

Great spot on the east side of the road, less than 100m south of Grandview Tower. There's a fire pit, level ground, and plenty of room for our 44' 5th wheel and truck.

I checked with the ranger coming into the NP this morning. She said no problem at all camping here. She knew exactly where I was talking about when I described it.

4 bars of Verizon 4G. Connection speeds of 77 down, 41 up.

Nice, secure and very clean place with a big open kitchen and common area. Space for about 6 rigs. They do have a pool since 6 months. The owners are amazing. 10$ pp/night.

Filled up gas and asked if we could fill up on water and he said it was ok! Water is by the shed on the left. Very slow but does the job!

This place was as described in the previous post. We came on a Tuesday morning and pretty much had the place to ourselves. We had no issues with the machines. There is a front and rear parking lot so we had plenty of space to park our shuttle bus. There’s even a nice park on the other side of the rear lot. Oh, and they do play great music! :-)

Verizon LTE signal south of the rock, but nothing north of it.

Interesting rock, but the area is truly disgustingly trashed.

Lovely place as described earlier. Very clean bathrooms, laundry and well-maintained common areas. There is/was no bar/restaurant. The second story palapas are the highlight of this place but they are very old and rickety. Not suitable for young children or folks who have problems with stairs, but what a great place to hang a hammock and read the day away. We will return if they fix the electrical problem. Not fair to say it was all their issue but our surge protector wouldn't allow a connection, indicating it was either too low or too high. Paid $40 per night without electricity and that is high for the area. Kiki's next door is $35 p/nt but don't know if they have good electrical. This location is not really walking distance to town (although we did) so if that is important to you, heads up. Taxis can be called.

This is NOT public land. Passed by after camping at another spot down the road and wanted to make an update. Signs state “no trespassing, no dumping”. Looked on the map to see this is private ranch land, not BLM like other spots down the road towards Mesquite

November 30th, 2021 Tucks' Truck

Just a basic truck-stop but OK for a quick nightstop. The main area by the fuel station was busy, but there's a quieter overflow area with fewer trucks and further from the main road, so we got good night's sleep. A&W burger bar for food if you need it. Free.

We took a shower here for $10 per person. Pressure and heat was great. Not the cleanest but also not the dirtiest. Pay at the office (they took cash or card).

They also have a laundromat (I didn’t check how much it was). Free wifi by laundromat, but if you need to use it anywhere else on their premises it’s $6 I believe.

Nice park where we can sleep overnight and even stay up to 3 nights for free, you need to call the Chambers County Park department for a permit at (409) 267-2409. Nice view of the Lake, any size rigs. We spent one night very quiet of course we were à weekday in November. You need to be self contained no water, no electricity and no dump stations. Toilets on site, picnic tables, playground, fishing, boat ramp.

After a lot of research, we found Peace Center within walking distance of the Malecon with all its shops, bars, and restaurants right on the water. They have both Air BnB rooms and RV spaces inside a secure gated compound. For 200 pesos ($10) per night, you get your camping spot, showers, flush toilets, water, electricity, excellent WiFi, fully equipped kitchen area, fire pit, barbecue area, TV area, tables and chairs in a covered palapa. You won’t find a more secure RV park in a such a great location and the hosts are super nice people. This place is a hidden gem!
