Huge well lit parking lot. We arrived around 5:30pm, just after dark. Looked out an hour later to a full parking lot of folks taking the Christmas train. Heard the train pull back into the station around 9:30pm. Everyone cleared out with no dreaded knock on our door. Quiet and restful sleep. Some road noise. 3-4 bars AT&T. Pit toilets. Garbage can. Great hiking trail. A very good spot.

Nice and calm place with lot of space for motorhome, water and electricity, bathroom with only one hot water needs to be fixed. To get to the beach you need to go on a small trail but tricky at night

Tricky to find but sandy track is fine for 2wd. It was confusing because when you get near it's unclear as to what's going on. Scrubby trees, small spurs of sand pull ins, beach, trash cans, most spaces claimed by long term, and so we parked and walked around looking for an empty space. Water is beautiful, mountains behind are sharp and spiky, it's very unique. Not a place I'd heard about.

Small state park with all the amenities. Quiet and clean

It’s fantastic, welcoming, pool is refreshing clean. Camping with power and dump. Hot showers and toilets supreme. Walked dogs out to point and enjoyed the amenities with welcoming care for all. Great food! Amazing cocktails in swim up bar. Worth every penny.

This spot is great although I did notice some sketchy activity in the late night/early early morning. Nobody bothered anyone just park near other rigs. Really great spot, just a heads up

Arrived after dark, light snow on ground but parking area is clear. Brightly lit so happy to have heavy shades on our trailer windows. Easy to find as it is well signed from Highway 17. Good views in the morning before we left.

Not really suitable for campers but we could camp with our car at a parking slot in front of the hostel. 800 ksh pppn.
Nice place and restaurant. Beach is really close, but because of a lot of locals\beach boys at the hotel pool and beach area it was a bit uncomfortable going in the water.
Beach boys behave like they are on drugs.
Friendly stuff, good kitchen and hostel vibes. A lot of dogs and monkeys are running around what makes it really special!

Lovely little spot to overnight with a big rig, bike or bicycle.
Turning off from the road leads you into a main gravel road Roth off shoots.

Pick a spot and enjoy.

Traffic from the main roads is barely audible in the background.

No fire wood, small trees so not much shade and you’ll need to pick a spot carefully to avoid the thorn bushes.

Not a single person or animal in sight.

As the ferry is not working atm, we shipped our truck with Cargo and we took the plane. So the immigration of the persons were easily done at the airport.
The process of the truck in Sharja were a bit complicated and needed us over 4 h.
They send us from A to B etc. incl. xray and dog check.

These are the prices for a 6x6 MAN truck with 18 tons incl. a quad bike, so smaller vehicles will be cheaper, I guess.

Nowadays called Bullbush River Camp. Nice campsite right at the river. You park on green grass. Clean facilities. Hot shower (donkey). $10/pppn. Friendly owner and staff and they make you a fire every evening. We spent 2 nights. Only short drive from the gate of QENP. We also had a good lunch at the restaurant (that maybe was just a bit pricey $12/pp).

Nice and spacey campsite right at the river Ishasha with a view to Congo (DRC) at the opposite shore. Facilities ok, running water, and flushing pit toilet. Cold shower, but good pressure. We had 3 armed rangers guiding us through the night. And other staff made us a fire in the evening. $5/pppn + park fees. Lots of hippos at the shore. We also had an elephant visiting us at the campsite in the evening! Can recommend staying here, great experience. The campsite nr.2 has better views to the river, but no facilities at all.
