Pulled up and after two minutes of that god awful smell we decided to try different dispersed sites. No idea how people were out there looking over the “wastewater evaporation pond” (as the signs at this “lake” call it) and breathing in that disgusting smell. Probably the worst scent I’ve ever smelled. 0/10 do not recommend.

beautiful spot right at the stony beach. just a small turnaround only suitable for smaller rigs. the landowner started building some house frame right next to it so it might be closed soon. great sunset but exposed to winds!

Very welcome change of scenery after the heat of the beaches and a quick lunch stop at nearby Berlin. Special place, I've never camped in a volcano crater!! Lots of locals around during the day. The last 2ish km from the main road is a steep and bumpy cobble stone street. We are 3m tall and it was no issue but sure you'd scrape some branches when much taller...

Beautiful NFS campground, $10/night drop box, camp host on-site. We were able to find a spot for our 26' skoolie no problem. Clean sites, quiet at night. Right on the lake. I wish we could stay longer.

Finca Akila horse tours. Dan and Kristell are warm and friendly hosts, offering a range of different tours, for beginner to advance riders. They love and look after the horses. Cabañas are currently under construction, one is ready for guests to stay in, more on the way. Active coffee farm also, absolutely stunning views. Very peaceful spot. Google maps location is accurate, narrow road from La India veers to the left around a house, fairly steep last section but concreted tyre tracks.

Very nice campground on the shore of lake kariba. Margot and Richard are so helpfully and theirs hospitality is great. Shower and toilets are super clean and functional. We got some fish from Margot for the braii. They have some houses built on theirs property and a walk up on the top of the hill will give you a stunning view over lake kariba.
We enjoyed our stay payed $15 pppn and the price is worth it. No good Telefon reception on EcoNet.

MODERATOR NOTE: Description provided by owner or manager.

Refúgio Santa Teresa, on the banks of the Taquari-Mirim River, offers an incredible experience for camping, motor home and day use. Our wooded area and our great star Riozinho, provide shade and fresh water to all visitors. Several hammocks and tables with benches scattered around the environment are special invitations to contemplate nature. It is also possible to carry out outdoor activities such as a float ride, walk and trail in the middle of the savannah where the fauna and flora of our biome can be observed. We have a functional kiosk that caters to tourists with an equipped kitchen, fridge, freezer, oven and wood stove. Female and male bathrooms with hot water shower.
We rent barbecues. We are at the edge of BR-163, 7km from the city of Coxim/MS.

** We have cell phone signal amplifier in the kiosk area

The parking lot for cars is clearly marked 3-hour maximum. I asked about overnight parking but the people working at the convenience couldn't give me an answer. in the end I didn't feel comfortable staying there.

Dope campsites. Parked our 20ft camper down in a bottom along with our friends in a truck camper. Sunset is gorgeous looking towards it or the mountains behind you.

Great Place, crossed 3 rivers in 3 season all doable.
Made in our 23 ft with 2WD pretty easy.
meanwhile you could drive further until the next river crossing as they did build a bridge.
For the small hike just cross the river walk until the small wooden bridge and it comes on your left. Around 3.5 km return trail.
No cell service.
Quiet and safe spot

Our favorite campground so far!!! the views are amazing, you will have the best sun sets in there!
Joep and Julia are the best host we have had! They are very cool, we really enjoyed talking and spending time with them. also they bake an amazing bread with jam.
The bathrooms and showers are the best you will have in your camper life.
The first time we went there we spend 3 weeks, after some months we come back and spend another 3 more weeks, and definitely in the future we'll come back!

Spent one night here, and another night at a spot nearby. Dirt/gravel road was easily accessible in my AWD Impreza sedan. Google Maps routed us weird, so we followed the road on Gaia GPS. There is a fire pit, but there is currently a fire ban in place. Not the most level spot, but amazing views. Felt safe enough as a solo female traveler with two dingos. If you have smaller dogs/cats, watch out for the large birds of prey that have nests in the cliffs. Follow us for more dog-friendly BLM camping! @KangaAndTheRu

We were too late to go in Padre island beach, so we stop at CB for supper. I asked for staying in the back parking for the night. No problem.

LOVE this place. Would stay for a week if we had time.
Do be careful in the sand though… We did get stuck.

A great experience despite the rain. There was a gale force winds warning on our second day and while we felt a little wind, the trees really mellowed it out.

Excellent and newly built resort on a really nice stretch of beach. Super nice atmosphere. We stayed for a full week and enjoyed every day of it.

You can go snorkeling just at the beach or they can arrange a boat trip to a small nearby island. 25 min walk from the main village on the island. Every couple of weeks there is live music from local artists and a big local party going on. Don't miss that!
Good massages are available at an affordable price.

Spotless beachfront ensuite chalets with breakfast (coffee/tea, eags & toast) from 25'000MKW per room.
You can also pitch a tent and use a really basic room for around 10'000MKW.
