Motorcycle repair & tire service.
If Marcelo can’t do it, he knows who can.
He has connections all throughout South America.
He helped me get tires in Ushuaia & Santiago.

Popular elephant seal overlook/viewing area. Adults are around from mid-December to late March, and the adolescents will hang around a bit longer after that. Not worth going out of the way for, but an easy and neat lil stop off the highway.

Free place to sleep facing the sea. Quiet and safe with some shade. I recommend

This camp spot is amazing! I am here for a night. It has an amazing set of trails attached to it and they lead to very pretty streams and a gorgeous beach! It’s tucked away enough from traffic that you don’t feel like you’re next to a busy highway. There is 3 strong bars of Verizon from this spot too!

RV park . $20 to dry camp on the beach. No amenities. There’s a cold shower that you need to hold your hand down on it and there’s no shower curtains . Most expensive RV park I stayed at for almost nothing in return besides to park on the beach . Go sleep at the free places in San Felipe . Don’t waste your money here !

We checked with police and they said fine to park up for the night. The 8 hour thing is not enforced. Busy and noisy initially but by 10/11 pm it is quiet til morning. Can’t beat the views. Simply stunning.

We go to this place but nobody and gate locked and no panel. Seems to have better days, I think they didn't go through covid.

As almost all the spots we checked in this town, this place seems close, it was a big mount of gravel in front of the gate. And nobody answered at the bell.

It’s $15 now for dry camping. Showers are $3 per person. We stayed because I needed cell service and there was none on the FS roads. Clean restrooms and showers.

This spot has a short steep and rocky approach, so I went a little way down the road to a spot that is easily accessible for medium size RV or trailer, and a couple more spots with great views further down a narrow bumpy track good for vans or truck campers.

As usual, Texas outdid themselves with a beautiful rest stop. Clean, well lit, picnic tables, boardwalks, nature education plaques, grills, clean bathrooms. there is a semi area and a car area. we chose the car area and were a little too long at 24 ft (with our generator shelf on back). good Verizon signal but the highway noise was LOUD. I didn't sleep well near the exit. maybe look for a spot in the middle so the trees can block some sound. there are a couple of stray cats there and we saw an armadillo and raccoon.

This is a nice wild camping spot by the river, close to the bridge. Traffic on this road is very low, especially at night. Rocky road that leads to it diverges from the main road just after the bridge (assuming you are going east). Only for 4x4, normal cars and big rigs won't make it. Dedicated rather for cyclists. Photo attached, place seen from the bridge.

Clean and safe rest area, but for those who were wondering like me, there are no RV dumps here unlike on the rest stops before and after this one going northbound.

The 1-day-private trip was an unforgettable highlight for us.
+ individually tailored, for example we didn’t want to start in Uyuni, but in Colchani
+ professional, careful and very friendly driver
+ excellent guide Marco: is fluent in English, speaks even a little bit German and we could improve our Spanish 😉
+ Is an artist in photography and made outstanding pictures of us in the Salar. (We are also semi-professional photographers, so this is really a big compliment.)
+ can give you more traveling hints for the rest of Bolivia
+ today Angie, the young woman, who owns the company was with us. She also speaks good English.
+ both with Marco and Angie we had interesting discussions about the country and its people.
+ we started in time and the whole tour went as discussed and agreed upfront
+ it was more than a guided tour for us.
we highly recommend this company

The owner built the hostel in his backyard. It was finished just before the pandemia in 2019, in 2022 everything is new.
It offers the following services :
- double room with private bathroom (hot shower)
- dinning room and a kitchen fully equipped
- possibility to park motos and bicycles in the backyard

The owner and his family are very friendly.
