goseeschitt.com | Beautiful spot! There were other campers there in vans, buses and travel trailers but everyone kept to themselves for the most part except one random intoxicated man but felt safe for the most part. Some locals where swimming and hanging out. Coyotes and Burrows did visit this area a few times throughout the day. If your lucky you will find a spot with a fire ring however the wind was really strong. There is a pit toilet but could be a long walk if you park down by the water. Dirt road in was decent. |

TRAVELcandies-On-Tour | Very nice place, for 4-5 cars. We stood there with one 7.5T truck, as well as with a Landy and our Sprinter, directly in front of 2 pools.

Kristina | AMAZING location. Took my Winnebago Travato van pretty far, down this road to a nice spot. Had 5G service at times on my Verizon phone and 4bars LTE the other time. Stayed for four days, felt totally safe. People would walk their dogs and ride bikes; it was like a little dispersed camping neighborhood for a few days. They’re logging, so there are no fires allowed, but otherwise it’s perfect! |

jurs.adam | Great place. $18 per night for cars. Stayed one night and loved it. The hikes are tough. I only really did the green diamond trail. The map is very confusing but I’m sort of a newbie. Would love to come back and spend a few days. |

marthaah7 | Lone Mesa was a nice site. Spots are close together and pretty exposed, something to keep in mind for tent camping. Road was better than willow springs or Klondike bluff in my opinion. Easily passable in my 2WD sedan. VERY windy on this day, tent blew away. |

sending.it.south | We drove from Palenque to San Cristobal today. Checked in with GN and policia estatal in Palenque who told us route is now open and safe. GN told us to only drive during day. We left Palenque at 11am and got to San Cristobal at about 530pm. The drive was beautiful but not my favorite. About 40km outside Palenque we encountered 4 ropes with people demanding we buy their dried plaintains or pay them a 50p toll. We politely declined to pay or buy and instead gave the kids at the rope a few stickers. After about 2 minutes of holding our ground, they relented and dropped the ropes. A bit closer to Ososingo there was a bunch of construction with up to 20m delays. From Ososingo to Guadelupe there are at least 200 topes. It's the worst tope section of road I've driven. There are some parts of the road where there is a poorly engineered and rough tope ever 50m. Its extremely annoying. However besides the agressive vendors with the ropes near Palenque, we had no issues with safety, corruption, or locals demanding tolls. This road is passable again. Just check with the local cops and other travelers before you go. |

wanderingwinterfields | We stayed in this clearing lined by boulders down a road marked with a state park sign. No signage indicating anything was allowed or not allowed. After passing this clearing and going up the hill, it’s absolutely not passable by anything other than 4x4 as it’s steep and muddy due to water crossings. There were also freshly downed trees up there so we stayed safe and away from trees in the clearing. Enjoy! |

wanderingwinterfields | Signs say camping in designated areas only. There are only 2 or 3 designated areas here and they’re first come, first served. They’re great though. Spots are on higher ground but directly on the lake. Picnic table. Fire ring. And free. Good luck snagging these spots in summer, though. I’m sure they go fast. |

kasiadebska1 | Another hospedaje in town, seems like a new one. Double room with shared bathroom 40s. Very big rooms, nice beds and really clean toilet. No hot water, but it's not needed as it's hot outside. There is no fan though, so it can get a bit hot, but it's good with open windows. Parking on the street, the town seems really safe and quiet. |

MeatAroundTheWorld | Here is a place with many different specialists- Doctors, dentists etc. Our little one had a very bad stomach bug and we sought advice from pediatrician Dr Vanesa Lemus González. She was very thorough - carrying out a complete health check in addition to the investigation we needed, and we were very pleased. She took samples, had us nip over to the lab to get it examined and an hour later, we were able to consult with her again and receive the right medicine for our daughter’s bacteria. This consultation cost 200 Quetzales. We would highly recommend. Please note- appointment bookings are required in advance. |
