I almost hesitate to add yet another Cuenca hotel, but this place seemed a useful addition. It sits on the edge of the historical centre only about ten minutes’ walk from the central square. It has its own secure parking lot behind the hotel, which was good to find around here. (Other hotels may direct you to a nearby public parking.) The parking will take smaller vehicles and bikes. The rooms at the back are quiet and comfortable, with hot water and internet. $30 per night with breakfast included.

We stayed in the parking lot of Mt. Rose Trailhead with no issue. There were other cars. No overnight parking sign. The only sign states no parking from 9:00p.m to 6:00a.m but from Oct to May(see photo). We got here in September so thought it was permitted and had a very good night quite and safe. T-mobile 2 bars 5G.

a turn out in the middle of the bridge from new York to Vermont, into a little knoll of land. If light traffic noise bothers you it might not be great but for me it was perfect and right on the water. A beautiful view and breeze all night and morning. Birds, boats and water, what more could you want. lol Oh and there's a porta potty if you use those lol. Clean and safe.

Don’t follow the Google map directions - goes to a private residence. There’s an alternative rate that has a hair pin turn on a gravel road.

If you drive down about 100 yards farther than the pin drop you’ll come to a grassy area that’s perfect for a Promaster.

Lots of nature sounds at dark - very peaceful

Nice place to sleep, 24/7 bathrooms. Other MHs by us, little bit of highway noise but nothing bad. Good little spot to walk dogs too. Saw a sign for a water fill up, going to look into that to see if we can fill our water.

09/03/2022: We pulled up to take a quick shower and freshen up. As soon as we arrived, Ranger greeted us and after our question about showers he told us to fill out the paper from the envelope, took the money ($4 per person), gave a change and we were ready to go. Super friendly and helpful! Showers were clean, not many people. We took our time and even have some spare time to sun dry our towels. Would go there again in the future!

Great spot for water fill and sani dump.
Chatting about Sprinter vans with Ken, the owner, is an awesome bonus! I picked his brain about my DIY maintenance, intricacies of the Sprinter 4x4 system, etc. and learned great tips.
Their shop has upfront pricing for Service A/B on the website. Very cool.

Wow! Place was excellent! I did get a front spot, showed up around 3, hardly anyone was here.

The road would definitely be difficult when wet, but it hadn’t rained here for several days.

We walked the 2 roads that left the entrance. The one towards the left - heading west - the road was decent and would be passable in low clearance and 2wd. The other road (heading straight south) was EXTREMELY rutted and big pot holes. Would definitely require high clearance and/or 4wd.

There were lots of sites though, majority of people were tent camping.

If you have a trailer or large RV, I’d only recommend camping near the entrance or just a little bit down the West road.

This is a gem of a site! As stated, there were a number of sites along Forest Rd. 83, but the one tagged is located at 42.98656, -72.99008 and was just great. I stayed here for three nights at the end of August 2022.

Like all dispersed sites there are a few negatives, none of which are deal-breakers to me. First off, the entire site is sloped downward, including the best places to pitch your tent (just a bit), and the main tent site is a bit closer to the fire pit than I'd otherwise like, but honestly don't worry about that...after all, you *do* make sure your campfire is out before retiring for the night, RIGHT?

If you have a vehicle that can clear a modest obstacle, the driveway is a bit steep and rocky, but any Jeep or Subaru can handle it. Just be careful. One thing I didn't like is there was a very large and very dead tree right behind the fire ring that if it fell during a storm, could land on your tent. It's still quite sturdy but I've messaged the Forest Service about this nevertheless.

Wonderful little spot. Sheltered from sunrise a bit too so you don’t get blinded as early as you otherwise would. Slight highway noice but not bad.

Place at a higher ground, shade all day long provided by pine trees. The place is not very leveled and there are 2 fire pits for making a barbeque, probably used by the locals. We found less garbage here, comparing to the other camping spots you will find untill here. We also cleaned some, so now it's better. There are also a lot of camping places next to the lake, just drive along and choose your spot. We only saw a few locals Saturday night, but generally the place is rather peacefull. The road is not tarmac, but even large campervans can make it.

OVERLANDERS BEWARE. Tried this spot tonight and pulled up to a closed gate as well as a sheriff and forest patrol writing tickets to a group of men in their trucks (may have been hunters).

Forest patrol informed us that almost all of the Oregon coast is owned by lumber companies and all types of camping are closed and will be fined. They said this is due to recent trashing, human waste, and other disrespect of the land.

Had to get a hotel after day 10 on the road and WY, MN, MT and CO having no problems. Bummer. Guess I’ll go south and hit more national forest land.

It’s a private Campingspace now.
A lot of Picknick tables and Grills.
The owner didn’t want any money from us.
We got invited for food and drink from one of the groups who was there.

We spend 3 nights here. They improved the road so getting here is super easy in any kind of vehicle! You could also get close to the Laguna but you will need to drive in soft sand (4x4 maybe a good option) There is a little pier in the Laguna with 2 beaches one at the end of the Laguna, so good option if crowded! When we were here some cars and motorbikes during the day. But nobody at night. Some claro and Entel Signal (3g). Beautiful spot! if you want a real oasis experience...
definitely one of the best option in the area. Also great for swimming! and Beautiful sunset from the dunes! Very recommend!!! and super clean !!! almost no trash at all ! One of our highlights in this part of Peru !
