Disagree with this being unspectacular - absolutely adored the views, and you hardly hear any road noise, it’s being drowned out by the river. Also completely hidden, so good for an outdoor shower! There area few not quite level spots right at river level as well.

The site isn’t exactly where it’s mapped though, it’s 2km north on the highway where the river bends.

There’s a road thats pretty tough, wouldn’t bring a trailer or anything but we made it up in a haundai santefe sport, there’s 2-3 little pull offs to stay in. There’s lots of trees. Little traffic through here.

small laundrymat(in a strip Mall), but it is clean and the gentleman running it, is very kind and helpful $4.50/load for small load or $8/load Canadian$ for big load. Also parking is spacious for RV'S but we parked right beside this place, as business closed and lost of space for our RV/Truck 48'

From the pictures on Google, this seemed like a clean place to go. Plenty of machines for all. Large parking lot.
People seemed to stay to themselves.
The neighborhood seemed fine but looked a little run down. Be cautious.

I have stayed here a few times. Park in the lot by the auto center. Lowes and Walmart internet is very good. there are a few tractor trailers in the
lot so you fit right in.

Legal spot with very clean toilets, next to a cute town with a beautifully lit church. Very quiet, with free water hookup and a place to dump grey water. Plus a sink where you can wash dishes.

Price is now 10,800 and only available online from puntoticket.com. Search “Valle de la Puna”. Includes the mirador ticket now. Additionally, many of the points of interest are now closed. Probably still worth it. You came all the way to San Pedro, no? But certainly hurts knowing it used to cost 2500 with more available to see.

Wonderful quiet spot with the option of shade or full sun for solar panels. The path that we assume went to the river is a bit too overgrown to walk on, but we really enjoyed our time here. Shared the spot with another camper for one night and had it to ourselves for two nights. It seems that some locals maintain the road somewhat regularly, so don't be alarmed if you hear a pickup truck dragging a bunch of metal chains in the morning! They're just trying to reduce the washboards.

Nice Restaurant from where you have a very nice view over the lake. The food is excellent! Felipe, the owner is a very nice guy and can give you some tips from the area. He speaks very good english. Enjoy a nice afternoon or an evening on the beautiful terrace of the restaurant 🙂.

This place frequently gets flagged as permanently closed. Usually, it is during the winter when it is closed due to winter conditions.....it always opens in the spring. This time it was closed due to drought conditions causing extreme fire hazards. Guess what? It rained. A quick 2 minute phone call to the Rangers office has confirmed it is, as of 1350 09/09/2022 OPEN. Temp closures are NO reason to flag somewhere as permanently closed.

This is on road 34, just east of Phil's World Bike Trails. It is not permanently closed and should not have been marked as such. It has winter season closures which is normal for this area. Whoever is marking these places closed and go back home.

Located at the southern tip of Lake Superior Provincial Park, easy to locate. Large area for multiple RVs, campers, some grassy open area for tenting, couple smaller spots tucked into woods, several fire pits. Very rugged gravel road/path to lower level, could camp there, would likely need 4WD. Steep path to beautiful view of the Bay. Minimal data signal, no facilities.

State run camping and park. Campsites have water and electric and are fairly level. There is a bathhouse and running water toilets. Pretty well kept by the very pleasant camp hosts. $22/night.

Passed through today, there seems to be an hospedaje now right on the edge of the Laguna… I’ll make a separate post.

Passing through today I noticed a small but cute hospedaje right on the edge of the Laguna. Had we known about this we might not have camped on the side of the road near Quime… anyway, we didn’t stop so I don’t have much info other than it looks decent from the outside (fairly new I’d say) and would be a good option for cyclists or moto travellers that don’t want to pitch a tent at this altitude.
It’s looked safe enough to leave your motos parked next to it, off the main road by about 200 meters.

No facilities but very safe, quiet and free of charge place to spend a night (or much more) with a motorhome. Is a parking lot. Wonderful place to spend some days in the unique salty natural hot wather park in Brazil. Termas Romanas, very nice place and amazing staff.

Go to the reception and ask for non-guest access to the pool (I asked for the showers and they were slightly confused. Still polite tho and no problems). Showers are at the changing room downstairs. Really quiet and basically no other people when we were there

Quiet, free camping. For $10 there are spots to plug into electricity

Entrance is off of US-36, just past the country club heading east from Oberlin. Google maps was trying to send me somewhere else based on the gps coords.

They have a really big back gravel parking lot that fits 30 ft long RVs or buses. Could probably fit at least a couple of 40 ft buses. Can use your hotspot and utilize the park areas for lunches or trail walks etc. While you're here (before or after work ) you can take a boat cave tour, which is really interesting to see.
