50sallie65 | Overton is not a friendly place when it comes to getting water. They’re no RV DUMPS in this town, no gas stations that have a hose out. I asked several folks about getting water including calling the local water company and the second they know you want water they stop talking to you( quickly) end the conversation. We bought gas and groceries in this town. I would say I’m not a freeloader, like I was called. Not a future destination. Ok for a night or three. |

earthsguide | Camped here last night, further down road (4x4/clearance) at the south end a mile past toilet and trail head. Gorgeous. Rain started in early morning and we just got back to trailhead before it got bad and we had to infill to crossings for our 4x4 sprinter (lucky timing). Today we hiked the trail the hot springs. Found hot (warm) water sources on both sides of the river but the springs have unfortunately been washed away, buried under mud and debris. Like the Gila, Jordan springs is no more and Low springs by trail head half hearted quick rebuild after August 20 washout. Great hike and beautiful campsite regardless, valiant effort needed to repair and rebuild the springs.

wevegonemobile | Nice spots here. Tried Boca Grande (storm damage) and Panchos but lots of working fishermen. The Bluffs are nice. The road from BoLA to San Francisquito is in bad shape, bad further west too. 4x4 only as of this date. |

vermeulenrae | Did not have a good night in Livingstone and decided on Mabula for our 2nd night on our way to Kafue. Nice quiet camp. Place seems deserted but call was promptly answered at the number provided and we were met at the gate by Bright who showed us to the camp. We did not book ahead of time so ablutions a bit unkept and not too clean. The water was off but friendly Solly soon got that sorted. It may be off season as the lodge was deserted. A much better option than anything on offer in Livingstone town. Pd 200 ZMK pp. A bit overpriced for what you get but will recommend as there are no decent options in Livingstone if you are on your way to or from the north on the T1. The supervisor, Joe, is a mine of information and a delightful man. Found out the next day that we should have asked to purchase biltong from the owners. If we should travel this way again en-route to Kafue, we would cross at Kazangula and stay at Camp Nkwazi, stock up in Livingstone and camp 1 night at Mabula and then the long but pleasant drive to Dudumwezi gate. The Choppies in Kalomo was better stocked than the Shoprite and Spar in Livingstone. |

stinananfito5 | Love this place! Was on my way from “last free beach” camp spot south to another free one further down from here, when I decided to turn in here and check it out. So glad I did! FAST Wi-Fi at restaurant that I can use from camp spot directly on the beach. Perfect location for kayaking, saw tons of little fish and a big ray, so I bet the snorkeling would be awesome. There are way less flies, fleas, bugs etc here and smells way better(not like the beach has been used as a toilet) than north at my last four camp spots coming down the peninsula. Perfect clean white sand w some shells and rocks. Great view of mountains all around. 200 pesos to camp in my van. Worth every penny!!! Flushing toilet. Shower was weak but honestly I couldn’t be happier after the dirty trek down these last several days so I made due w the cold water/crappy pressure and thoroughly enjoyed it. Super happy to be here and def recommend!! Oh, and everyone is so nice!!! Just a few locals working, and one other tent camper by me, really quiet and peaceful. Great warm vibe. |
