Nice facility, straight forward, full hookup for $25. WiFi ok, but slow. Sites are flat gravel. Rick and Karen were most accommodating. Excellent “regrouping” location and well worth the stay.

We slept at this location after visiting the "volcano", but you can easily pick any spot just off the road for a nights stop. There are just a handful of farms around and spread sparsely. We parked at 5pm and the only cars that came by were the 3 other visitors of the volcano. During the night we had complete silence, the loudest noise being our own breathing.

Beware of the altitude (3994m) because you can't get to a lower point anywhere in the next 2-3 hours of driving, a coca tea saved our asses after going up from Nazca in one day.

It's very windy during the day, but completely dies down as soon as the sun sets.

Also fuel up in Nazca (or any bigger town if you are coming from the North / East), because they are no gas stations for about 300-400km. Some tiendas in the villages claim to sell fuel, but I wouldn't count on it.

No cell service at all.

I was camping out of town when police came and sent me nicely away to this village square. Huge square, peaceful and quiet. Nearly deserted. Playgroud for Kids, I parked opposite of a heladeria, and dogs can roam and stiff freely.

Places to stealth park in this community that has lots of places to park where you’re not in front of someone’s house. Bushes, green spaces, etc m. Make this a good place for a arrive late, leave early scenario

Great location directly downtown on the water in a well lit and walkable area. Spoke to some locals and someone who works for the marina and said they encourage vans and very small RVs (no big rigs) to stay overnight and explore the city. None of the electrical outlets work on the side for parking, there are others on the other side but you'd need to let vehicles run over your cord. Water also available at the marina.

Empty lot near the road. We arrived around 6:30pm and at 9pm, the police came.
Apparently the lot is owned by the ranch that’s far behind and they called them. They checked our ids and after a nice talk, the owner which they had on the phone let us stay for the night.
If you want to come here, try to go ask to the ranch first

Beautiful little spot. room for two small rigs. Close to hwy so a bit noisy but the beauty outweighs the noise. Steep but navigatable hill. We are 10 feet high and had to be careful with trees but no problem.

Great place for wild camping. On the weekend maybe busier but you have some space more isolated. We camped here on Friday in November and felt safe. The road is easy for any kind of vehicle and they are working on it, in the future will be more crowded.

This place is the parking behind the city hall of Balneário Pinhal. Is very quiet at night, almost no transit, and near the police station. Good for stay during the night.

Although school buses are let into the national park here, they claimed that our BigRig (7.8m long, 2.3m wide, 3.8m high) was much too big. So no admission for BigRig at the moment. In Sinamatella we didn't have any problems entering the Hwange.

Ok for a stopover night or two. $38.50 a night, includes electricity, water and sewage. Very messy, dogs barking constantly, no public bathrooms or laundry. Witnessed someone run into another motorhome in the park one night. Dead birds in a few spots. Most people seem to be long timers. Owner is an incredibly nice guy though. Good in a pinch, but don’t recommend.

Caution! They built concrete cascades as a river crossing, but they are washed out and slippery as hell because of algae covering it. We drive a heavy 4x4 truck and we're sliding as on soap, 4x4 does nothing. Stay to the uphill part so you don't slide downhill and potentially flip upside down. There are deep holes on the uphill side though, so you will get into a very uncomfortable slant will sliding uncontrollably. Fun times... (level of algae might depend on season)

Just to update and let travellers know the showers here are great but not free unless you buy 200 litres of gas! The price is reasonable though at $25 pesos per person. They are clean and each shower room has a toilet and a sink and has hot water. It was good to get super clean again!! It’s worth the drive through town to get to this place.

Very quiet spot. The place in the photos isn't available now, the herbs have grown. We parked just opposite on a small plot. The road to get there is very narrow, no big VR.
