No bathrooms, kind of a bad smell, but a quiet place to spend the night. We weren’t bothered.

nice juge parking in front if thé sea. right now its raining like crazy si its really not nice to ne outside.but...the place is nice.nobody around apart of nice locals . I would say, if thé weather is good... excellent spot

overnight parking for registered trail riders only...horse riders, that is.

I think there is someone living there, the house looks inhabited, a motorbike parked in front.

Got here around 10pm saw no ‘no overnight camping/parking signs’ so I decided to stay. Saw the security car patrolling and gave them a wave. They didn’t bother me at all so I am assuming overnighting is not a problem. Bathrooms are nice and there are water fountains. Also WIFI!

it's now 50 Reais for 5 glasses. didn't like this place. we went next door to Dom Candido, where you get 2-3 glasses pp for free

This was the best Walmart we stopped at yet! Got in around 1 am. Went to the right side of the building and saw a bunch of other cars parked. I don't think they were others staying the night. Either way, it was extremely quiet and nobody bothered us. lots of cops around the area so I felt pretty safe. Great spot for a night when you need it!

gran lugar! el mejor para parar en Cusco...baños, espacio para cocinar, electricidad, y gran espacio verde dónde conocer muchos viajeros! precio 2 adultos 2 niños 50soles. muy cerca del centro. para subir ahí sí mejor taxi, la subida es empinada aunque si uno va paseando se hace fácil.

It is now a bar restaurant, still possible to stay on the parking for 20000 per car/night there is music until midnight after very quiet.

Free Wifi, works very good.
Also a nice little and good stuffed Visitor Center to plan your Trip

Hola! notice we are at risk of LOSING camping access to pastora this year - due to garbage and using bushes as toilet. Yes some of us are doing our part, and those that aren't better step it up.

The municipality of Todos Santos has been vying to have the national enforcement change regulation of this area which would prohibit all camping! There are pro and cons to this. A big pro is no developments will be allowed! A con is losing the privilege of free camping. Please be vigilant and CLEAN up. Rent a porta potty, do NOT use the bushes for your shits. There is talk of a cheap campground option opening up on the other side of the road near pastora, will update with more beta.

there's a nice gravel spot right off the main road big enough to get a good size trailer or Van Into. I set up camp with my motorcycle and a tent for the night. cell phone reception was awesome. very little traffic throughout the night. it looks like a spot where you would park a horse trailer for trail riding. I followed the road back just a short bit and there seems to be some clearings in the back to get farther away from the road. I would definitely recommend the spot. very clean and well-kept signs of no trash in the area. I would keep off to the side of the service road so it still can still be accessed

Came here on the 4th of November and parked in line with lots of other people who didn't manage to get a ticket.
There was a lot of chaos and after waiting all night only 2 or 3 cars managed to get on the ferry.

Just FYI, the next ticket would have been available in a week

free camping at this park 7/30 limit. pit toilet, fire rings, picnic tables, and trash. good Verizon signal but no t-mobile.
it's an alight spot, 8 sites close together all with shade. Unfortunately the stay limits seem to be loosely enforced and there are a few shady looking sites. other than that a good free place for a night or two. reservoir/lake right down the hill.

there's a large trailer here and would work for big rigs but would not be ideal.

A little pricey but worth it given the convenience to old town Quebec. Nice walk along the water to get into the walled city.

not recommended for big rigs, you COULD probably get up there to the camping area, but the road is sketchy af. we've got a 40 foot bus and it was a hard pass for us.

Here you can find nice long beach with like 10 free outside shower, barbecue and other facilities to hang on your hammock. Really nice place

Also went with Guayavoil it was 50$/pp with snack in the morning and apero in the afternoon with 2 island. Worth it. We slept on the parking the day before. Quiet at night.

We went to the ICMBio office in Santarem and they told us you only need a written permit if you’re more than 10 people. So just drive to the Sao Domingo entrance, register there for free, and enter.

You can drive to the communities Maguari and Jamaraqua, but to hike into the actual forest, you have to take a guide. They’re readily available in Jamaraqua (where you can also join a group and share the price). There, they typically do a 9km loop to look at the big trees and swim in a beautiful Igarape (jungle river). The loop takes 4 hours because the guides walk súper slow. Unfortunately you don’t see any animals. A guide costs 200R in total (so to be divided by the participants). If you’re more than 5, price remains 40R per person.

As for camping, there are a lot of spots in and around the communities Maguari and Jamaraqua where you can camp (we asked and it was more than okay), also with view of the beautiful beaches. Locals are very friendly.

Today toll wooth was taken over by locals. Maybe 40 people. The car in front of us had to pay 50 mxn. We were lucky and they waived us through.

they have placed blocks, so you cannot drive to the beach anymore. when we were there the sea was reaching to the road. we didn't stay.

update: maps.me sent us the old way. to avoid this section cross the red bridge and then the brand new metal bridge.

I don't think they want people going up here (at least not by car), because they removed the concrete pads going over the irrigation channel. This lot is also tiny and can keep at most 2 cars, so I wouldn't even bother. It's not level either, while the main parking lot is (it seems some earlier reviews had it swapped).

Massive parking lot (at least room for 50-100 cars), but still a super friendly and welcoming vibe. We parked here in the late evening, went to the Aguas Turquesas by foot (not far, 1.3km in total), and had a delicious trout at one of restaurants near the parking lots. At 5pm most shops were already closing, but she still made us fried trout. I didn't even need to finish my question about staying overnight when she said yes. Trout is now 12-15 soles depending on the size (including sweet tea, potatoes, rice and salad), but still a bargain. Recommended stop!

(Driving here from Carapo took ages though, snaky mountain dirt road up to 4400m and additional construction going on, 2-5 hours depending on your luck)

We didn't sleep here, but to update a somewhat old post: This is still accurate, there is nobody around and you can just pull off on the side of the road pretty much anywhere to sleep if you can handle the altitude. Comes in handy if it gets late.

Update after driving out the other way to Sacsamarca: Driving here from Sacsamarca / Huanca Sancos is much faster and very scenic (about 1,5-2 hours up/down a canyon). It's also the next gas station from here.

Google Maps tells you that you can't drive to Sacsamarca from the volcano which is bullshit, this is the main road the mini buses take and there is a bridge crossing the canyon, so all good. Wouldn't do it in anything mich bigger than a sprinter though, it is steep and curvy, but 2WD is fine.

If you have some time you can make a scenic two day drive from Nazca to Aguas Turquesas with a stop here and a night in the highlands. It's all dirt road, so take it slow (lower tire pressure also helps to make the right smoother, due to the lower ambient air pressure your tires will be overinflated coming from see level anyway).

Take time, fuel and some cash and it's very much enjoyable. We had a bit too little of all of those items, making it more stressful than it needs to be. Safety-wise you can camp anywhere along the road in the highlands here, it's just the altitude that might get you.
