Beautiful little bay, tucked away behind a hill. Super quiet and piecefull. No wind when we stayed. Road was a little bit rough to get there as described in other comments. 150 MXN. Restaurant was closed when we arrived and when left.

we cane here for cross country skiing on a Friday in December, and stayed Thursday and Friday night without any issue. we tucked in in the corner. the nordic centre closes at 3, so I'd wait to park up until 4 or later, and keep within your camper. there are no garbage bins, but there are toilets once you pass the ticket scanner (day pass required).

Quiet, easy to drive road. A little bumpy at site. Probably would not drive up it if any chance of slickness or snow. has leaving there's downhill turns that have a good drop off and cuz the road is smooth dirt traction would be questionable. pretty views along the road. foggy in the morning so could not see the mtns. better than a rest area which is the next noted option going north.

Beautiful place! They have two large open fields for camping, surrounded by trees along the perimeter. The upper field was less crowded than the lower field, but overall there was plenty of room for everyone. Both areas have bathrooms and showers, but only the lower section has hot water. The bathrooms in the upper field were brand new and very clean (we didn’t see the lower bathroom). Stunning views everywhere! 8,000 clp pp/pn.
I also recommend doing their hiking trail. It’s fairly short, but a bit steep and not super well-marked (make sure you follow the orange trail markers). Great views at the miradores! Just make sure you wear boots - we saw a snake on the trail and found a leech on my foot.

Parking lot for Mt Si Trailhead. Requires Discover Pass (signs in lot for how to buy one online) but has no signs that state no overnight parking.

Level gravel lot in the trees. Very quiet and a couple other cars scattered throughout, but they seemed to be out camping.

The lot is big enough for any size rig assuming there's parking spaxe, but you might have a bit of trouble navigating the entrance. Trailer should be fine.

Pit toilet at trailhead.
Decent Verizon reception.

Guatemala - El Salvador

Saturday morning, 9 a.m., December 31. We think it would be long on this holiday but we were alone at the two borders! 😁 1 hour to do all the steps for three people and a car!

Leaving Guatemala
1. Park and go to immigration to stamp the exit from Guatemala in everyone's passport.
2. Go to the fotocopia office just opposite (this is where we parked). Make a copy of both drivers' passports and a copy of the car owner's exit stage. Make a copy of the tip from Guatemala.
3. Go to the aduana. Same building as immigration, but on the other side. Give the photocopies and the tip. He will put the suspension step on the tip, because we will be back in 2 months. Make sure your return date works with what he's offering you.
4. Go back to the photocopy and make a copy of the suspended tip.
Necessary documents: passport of all passengers, driver's license, vehicle registration, Tip with exit stamp from Guatemala, car owner's passport with exit stamp.

Entry to El Salvador
1. On deck, an officer will approve your hanging tip from Guatemala.
2. Park just after on the right.
3. An officer outside validated our passports. No stamp on this side.
4. Go to the aduana to do the tip of El Salvador. Form to be completed by the owner of the vehicle. They will come to check the VIN and the plate.
Documents needed:
Passport of all passengers, car owner's driver's license, vehicle registration, suspended TIP from Guatemala.
Photocopies: passport and license of the car owner, registration and Tip.

Big garage. Had engine oil changed & Front stabiliser arms replaced here for Prado 120. Was quoted higher initially but then gave some discount after discussion.

Nice spot right in front of the laguna. Not completely flat but you can level out with some rocks. Dirt road to get here and a couple of spots with lowish trees that could leave some scratches on big rigs, but I got here fine with my 2WD 4Runner and my German friend made it alright with his big rig. Nobody around and a quiet night just some noises from farm animals across the lake in around sunset and sunrise. There's one tree that provides some shade but not so flat near the tree so we parked along the lake shore. No cell signal, but beautiful views.

Very nice and welcoming family-run hotel. Basic but clean rooms, we paid 60k for a double room (with bathroom, fan), would be slightly more with air con. Short walk to the city center, lots of shops & restaurants around, yet quiet at night.

Little place right at the off ramp with amazing food. I had the Denver omlette, it came with home made refried beans, potatoes, and toast but ask for the tortillas, they are home made and perfect. The green sauce is deceptive, it will sneak up on you, cleared my sinuses and made me sweat but I couldn't stop eating it. My wife had chicken chiliquiles and my daughter had ham and eggs, along with 3 drinks and 6 extra tortillas to go, the bill was only $34 We were camped about 1 mile away at Alamo River Rv campground and the recommended the breakfast here.

Too much noise from the atvs zooming all day around camp, up and down the roads with lots of dust. It is the weekend, but really? It’s every 10 minutes snd theres a big group. There’s a popular bar in a container down the road and they all come through. Last night was quiet, waiting to see how long it lasts. Sites are pretty unlevel, it is crowded.

The good part is there is a great view to the south. It’s close to shopping on the north side of town. Easy access.
