It's a nice campground, but more expensive than average. The advantage is it doesn't get crowded in high season, like now. I paid 4000 pesos (12.5 US$ dollar blue exchange rate) for a place to put up my tent (I travel by motorcycle). The down side is all tenting space is dirt, not grass.ots of dust, but a lot of shade.
They have different prices, according to the amenities: electricity, picnic table.
Bathrooms were clean, hot water. There are hiking trails, and an easy walk to "beaches" by the emerald lake nearby. They sell beverages and meaks, but it's very expensive. Bring whatever you can. Potable water.

Ruins of an ancient city, now called Nippur or Nibur. Need permit to come in theory, I got in by being friendly. One of the guards, Hussain, speaks decent English. I'm sure you could camp here at the guard house or stay at one of the guards' houses if needed.

Wow, this is a gem

If your coming up to the petrified falls and plan on staying a night, stay at this place if you want peace and beauty.

Quiet little place with pools of their own, not hot but if the weather is right you won’t beat it.

Easy to find but 1-2km of a slow drive down a dirt road. We got our full size sprinter down here, non issue. No 4x4 needed

25pp to use pools and another 50pp each to camp the night. Friend in tent in some heavy winds so our great super friendly host Socharo, suggested it gets pitched in a little shelter on site for wind block.

Can you tell we love it here? 🫵🏻🤙🏻👍🏻

3bars of 3G
We also have three dogs, they got a little excited by the dogs, goats, donkeys and bulls but it is all good

It's a cute little campground with some trails that lead down to the creek. Day use area has restrooms and porta potties along with trash cans and water spigot. There is a dump station at this location as well near the campground entrance.

This is where you need to come to collect your permission to visit El Baul museum - which needs to be requested three days ahead of time, thanks to a 'new political situation '. See the separate nearby museum entry for details

As noted, free dump site is easy on and off of US-6/US-34, but is not pull through so one must reverse out. Even in sub freezing January the non-potable water is on for rinsing, which is nice.

Here's a camp spot next to the river with grass. It is like a glamping in construction, you have to cross an indian community that allows you to trespass their lands. 3 miles approximately from the council house that you have to pay the entry for the lands is this spot. It is a dirt road like mostly here, 4x2 vehicles Can pass easily. The payment was 10 Brazilian reais or 100 Guyana dollars per person. Ask for permission before get this place are preferred on the tourism office at lethem netx to the airport.

This is a camping site in the abandoned hydroelectric station next to the river. Here lives a family in the the house from the station. They let us pass the night in the paviment for more comfort. The site don't have a toilet. The water is from the river. No electricity service or something. You have to bring with you all your camping stuff. The properly camp site are in construction after being abandoned time ago. The actual cost is 3000 Guyana dollars per person bringing al the stuff and without any guidance or help if you wanted to the price is 5000g$

Nice new place. Pretty, comfortable, sort of indoor/outdoor. Next to a glamping spot, so it kind of captures that "instagrammable" vibe.
Young couple seems to run it.
Tasty, mostly standard Baja fare, with a couple of American breakfast items for good measure. Full bar if you're feeling boozy.

Chain Bridge Distillery

We pulled in here after we had to visit the German Auto Masters for an issue with our Sprinter Van (he’s a great sprinter mechanic, very knowledgeable!!). The husband and wife team at the distillery are very kind and helpful. They promptly showed us where to park for the evening. The cocktails are delightful. As a note, they are on Harvest Hosts as well if you choose to book ahead (we found them on HH after we had arrived). Highly recommend!!!

This is a very popular spot and locals come here to fill up their BIG water tanks. There is a regular spigot and then a high pressure one and if they are using the high pressure one at full blast, the spigot is dry. I only had 20 gallons to fill and two people with a 375 and 1,025 tanks came to fill which allowed me just a dribble, but it’s free water. :)
