@alyvanblake | didn't want to add another pin, but we camped near the beach on a flat spot between this pin and the toll booth. got here at 3pm and left at 10am and didn't see anyone the whole time. |

@alyvanblake | really nice spot. nice to get out of the wind. nice to see the viscachas if you didn't see them in Machu Picchu. tours do stop here to eat if you didn't guess from the 7 picnic tables made from rocks. |

@alyvanblake | easy pull off to rest if you are taking this route anyways, but definitely not worth the worst section of this road to see this rock if planning on taking the other route. |

@alyvanblake | this is the best place to take a picture of this lake. the other mirador view isn't as good and you don't get any closer to the water via the road. |

@alyvanblake | a sight for sore eyes... and bones... not much less windy then outside of the canyon, but less, and out of eyesight of the road. nice sandy flat spots. definitely a recommended spot! |

odpotovanja.si | Very nice place, possible to be in the shade and on flat ground. Nice creek for a little dip. Locals come to barbecue and leave a lot of trash. |

journeytoinnerself_ | If you have the opportunity of meeting this family, hear me: don't miss it! Even being really busy with the tiring job of cleaning and preparing their van, they found some time for us to chill out with all sorts of conversations. We even cooked some pizzas together. Claudia also make a delicious bread! They really have a lot of experience in traveling and listening to their stories about the more than 30.000km they did with their bikes were simply awesome! The place is flat, wide and we felt 100% safe. We stayed for three days and plan to be back when we're around Potrerillos. If you like trekking, there are some nice ones you can do to have a nice view of the Potrerillos dam. There's also a waterfall trekking, but we couldn't see it. Maybe it was dry at the time of the year. Last hint: don't miss Vallecito! |

adventurehaks.com | Definitely not a cheap place, but it’s the only option in town. 60,000 dinar. Negotiating wasn’t possible for us, I think they know you have no other choice. The room was clean and we could park our motos in a locked garage/storage area under the hotel. (Motos only) Power was only on from 530pm to 9am |

anthonyfissel | We stayed here for one night and got to enjoy watching children play some soccer. Once it was dark we had the place to ourselves with very little traffic and felt safe. |

morihays | Water Park with an area you can camp at for 150 pesos per person. There is a man working at the park during the night cleaning, and a train that goes by 3 times in the night which is loud. there is one plug you can charge electronics from hanging outside the men's bathroom door. Bathrooms were open at night, didn't try the showers. |

tanguy.adriaenssen | The Gte is very much padlocked having spoken to the locals about going hiking from there they said that’s no longer an option. Only option now is to start at Rio Eléctrico a bit further up the road… so camping there is most definitely not an option! |

freelance | Very convenient spot north of Mazatlan easy on off highway. 500 pesos per rig more suitable for big self contained rigs as the showers are cold and toilets are filthy. Good for 1 night but that’s all. |

damien.reynaud35 | Graciela is a wonderful host, super welcoming, makes you feel at home and always in a good mood. You have free access to the living room to chill and to the kichen to cook some food to share (or not).

iguana.panamericana | Absolutely no issue driving in with our 3m tall car. I think it depends a bit on how wide you are to fit through the gate. I've added a photo for reference, any Sprinter van type should be fine. The site is nice, beautiful garden and the people are friendly. The price is 30.000cop pp though, which is a bit much but there aren't many other spots around and we needed to work online. The WiFi is fine and the Claro reception fantastic (35+mb/s). Dogs are super nice but be aware of the geese.. We also did laundry here at 20k per load. |

overlandero | Lovely spot for small 4wd rigs or bikes. Can confirm I needed a few tries to go up even with a 4wd. Better to bring your own water, the cochamó river has plenty of cattle living upstream. Very peaceful. |

Chateau Ski | Great place at $20 a night with 15 amps and pit toilets open in winter. Cellular service is still reasonable. Cross-country ski track groomed for classic skiing. 3 different loops go through the woods in a beautiful setting. You can reserve your spot for an extra $12 or just show up and self-register. Pay by cash or cheque in an envelope. Trop froid. |
