Actually atm it's more a private house/garden, I could build up my tent in the shed, protected from wind and rain. They did not really sell food though, but got something to eat for a small and very fair extra charge. I could use kitchen and bathroom. Friendly owners, felt like a guest.

fantastic little spot, bumpy Road up but we'll worth it. ruins were brilliant had the whole place to ourselves, the same with the campgrounds. Was still free, and toilets were very clean. I'd easily stay there again

Cobraram 50 reais pelo motorhome (uma van pequena), achei caro, porém a localização é excelente, tem energia de noite e água também

Would not sleep here without asking permission from the guys close to the gate. It’s private property and the people who work there drive by on the gravel/bumpy road quite a bit. Road is also not a dead end by the way it leads to a sort of house/factory thing. The people are really nice though so if you ask they’ll be fine with letting you camp probably.

Nice spot, room for a good handful of vehicles at the end of this road. It's VERY BUSY in the morning with locals who take their boats out.

We arrived to a calm relaxing ranch. Honk when you arrive. Sandy the owner let us in. Shower was hot. Wash 50 pesos. 300 pesos/day plus electricity. Awesome beach. Went down to beach at night and saw turtles going back into ocean. Really enjoyed pizza night on Sunday. Don't miss it! Enjoy 😊

Staying here the end of February for two nights, three days it was not so busy anymore, so you could easily arrive late in the night and still find a spot to park your car. We expected a crowded and loud place, but although there were about 20-30 vehicles everyone was very quiet and we had two very good nights. El Chaltén is a very windy town though, so the second day/night we even felt like being on a ship inside the car. Couldn’t open the doors, all sand will blow inside and people next to us took down their rooftop to go somewhere else, so be aware of that. Pit toilet was fine, better have everything together instead of all the bushes full of it (lots of people only use the bushes as a toilet..). Toilet and water tap (outside) at the visitor center were easy to use! We liked this place. One car got creative and because of the ‘no tent’ sign, they set up their tent in the back of the pick up. Haha

It's a great and familiar tour here - highly recommended!
400Q per person - with included meals (desayuno an the day you leave, too), shelter & sleepingbags. Catalino is a really nice guy!
The guides are really nice, too, and are knowing what they are doing.
Rent hiking sticks, gloves & hat if you don't have it, to enjoy the gorgeous views in the cold night! Enjoy it!
Dogs are lovely welcomed.

You can camp for free on the footballfield if you are arriving day day before the tour starts. There you can leave your car safely during the tour, too.

It's probably the best place in Chacala if you are searching for a free stay. We were unlucky to get here over the weekend, so there was a LOT of traffic and loud music going on around the camper, but nothing that wouldn't stop around midnight. it's a fishermen's pier, the boats come and go constantly plus there's always sb watching over them so we felt safe even leaving our solar panels on the rooftop when we were going to the beach. There are no public facilities, but if you walk to the beach (around 5 min walk), you can find everything there. If you don't have a bathroom, it's kinda problematic to find a spot here. :D

Started my night on one side in a small secluded parking lot as there were other RVs. Woke up at 11pm and there was only 2 vans left. I trusted my gut and went on the opposite side towards the crackerbarrel which I had seen had many more people. Dont know if it was necessary but it made me sleep better to be reassured so I guess that's something haha

This gas station fills propane tanks. Standard prices. Might be a bit tight to drive into the gas station with a big RV. Could park on the side of the road instead.

Very nice place. Quiet and peaceful. Quite a lot visitors end februari. The day-use area is also used as overflow by one night overnighters.

Beautiful place! A lot of cactus and animals around. The track is quite narrow with cactus on both sides of the track, so not recommended for big rigs.

In addition: in November/ out of season we were alone. There was only a garbage container, no toilets.
Now in February / high season: lots of camper vans. 3 pit toilets, clean.

Teeny parking lot by a swamp trail at the end of a small gravel road. Half the parking lot was unparkable for something other than an ATV due to muddy terrain.

Really cool spot though, different than anywhere we have overlanded! Those cypress moss branches make for quite the view. At night, a few people came down the road but turned around once seeing us, or sat idling. Not the best feeling on a Saturday night, but hey, I think a lot of people just enjoy joy rides, or their privacy. We went kayaking off the designated kayak launch, then biked through the trail half way around the lake and turned back. A lot of alligators to see, even a momma and babies which we were cautioned to stay away from. Definitely recommend. Got data here.

NOTE: the mosquitos are brutally bad, as can be expected

We drove just past this site to the dead end where there’s an area to launch a kayak at high tide and explore the mangrove channels. Secluded, had 3G bars, lots of crab activity, had to drive thru some water/marshy crossings after a small rain to get here, could see it getting impassable after big rains.
